  1. Amen to that.
  2. Not many people fly to europe but it would make the trip available without a ferry tank a round the world trip a lot easier. You'd only need a ferry tank from fiji to hawaii and hawaii to CA. The rest could be done with these stock tanks.
  3. Realistically youll probably get the money back after 1000 hours of flying.
  4. https://www.controller.com/listing/for-sale/216819915/2008-mooney-acclaim-type-s-piston-single-aircraft
  5. How many seats are you using?
  6. don't you have one for sale?
  7. Fuel flow, fuel totalizer, and fuel tank gauges are all shown with endurance, range, and mpg.
  8. Just sent him a text. Ill let you know if he does.
  9. The rockies have a lot of good scenery.
  10. My hangar manager has a m20L converted to ovation. Ill ask him if he has the STC.
  11. I understand what youre saying, but an IO550 conversion in todays day is going to be over 150k. Youd need the engine, which would set you back probably 80 to 90k and I don't know if theyd take your core back. You need to build a new cowling, to buy a new exaust, new baffling, new ducts, and close up the exhaust holes coming out of the tail of the plane. And on top of the a DER to sign off on it because even though the STC did exist at one point, you can't buy it from anyone. Selling the plane for 50k which you'll likely be able to get more for it than that and buying a mid 2000s ovation or eagle will be way cheaper and will leave you with a plane you can fly, instead of one that will be down for at least half a year to a year or 2.
  12. You are better off selling the liquid rocket and buying an ovation. Do you have any specs of your aircraft. I have always been curious about the 350hp mooney.
  13. One trick I learned was using the G5 for Baro adjust. You don't need to press anything. The knob on the G5's main purpose as the backup to the G3X/G500 TXI is to adjust baro, and since the g500txi and the g5 are synced, it will adjust the baro on the 500txi.
  14. A gnx375, G5 hsi, and gfc500 with only the pitch and roll servo will do everything you're looking at doing.
  15. How much did he charge for the ful redo?
  16. I'm going to take a wild guess and say probably not.
  17. Found your plane on aircraft spruce. did you end up getting a BK autopilot?
  18. @Pmaxwell any updates on whats happening?
  19. Id honestly really love to do it like you but I doubt i'll be able to. I know for a fact i have the "cheese pattern" as @Aerodon has which will just leave me with a ton of holes. I called aveo reno and they said florida has a pair in stock so ill be calling tomorrow.
  20. How many hours did the install take, and who do you call to order these? Thanks Nik
  21. Theyll send you a letter to your house if the plane is registered there. You then call nav canada, leave a voicemail. theyll call you back in 2 to 3 days and you pay then. That how i did it. It was quite easy. Took maybe 5 to 10 minutes of my time all together added up. That is if you even get a bill.
  22. If youre on flight following and talking to a canadian controller, youll probably be billed 20 bucks for navcan for the quarter.
  23. I'd start with the mags. Timing could be fine but the mags could be toast. I took off one day out of truckee, and had a mag fail on me. I was lucky because it was -15c that day so the cylinder had a hard time getting hot but in a matter of 15 seconds it was about 50 to 60 degrees hotter than the rest of them. bad mag was the cause.
