  1. https://www.trade-a-plane.com/search?category_level1=Single+Engine+Piston&make=MOONEY&model=M20K+305+ROCKET&listing_id=2409768&s-type=aircraft# @Yooper Rocketman maybe you could call this guy and ask him how he did it.
  2. If it has a McCauley prop, you can't do the upgrade. You need one of the 3 Hartzell SS top props (Alu thick, Alu thin, Composite), or the 4 blade MT prop. The McCauley doesn't fall under the STC. If this is the one you're looking at, it has a hartzell and the correct prop for the screaming eagle. https://www.controller.com/listing/for-sale/217434653/1999-mooney-m20s-eagle-piston-single-aircraft. When you do the conversion, you'll need a new T20 Governor, a tach that can read 2700 instead of 2500. You'll already have an added tach because of the original stc, so you'll probably need to send that tach back to where it came from and have it adjusted to a 2700 rpm red line. Fuel flow will go from whatever it is to about 28 to 30 gph. Finally, call around for the STC. A lot of MSC's will bump up the price of the stc, but you can find some shops that will sell it to you at the retail price of $4,995. It's a relatively easy STC to do.
  3. I got one. Thanks
  4. If you're going to spend the money to install an autopilot, just do the basic 2 servo gfc500. It will be slightly more, but it will also work. Don't know if thats the case for the BK. @donkaye has things to say about it.
  5. Theres a shop that got an STC for it i believe.
  6. Although mine is a lot slower, it also has the washers.
  7. Ill be at the plane later tonight. Ill text you a picture.
  8. What size drill size does one buy for the lenses? I know theres a special drill, but i dont know if its a 14, 17, or 18. Thanks Nik
  9. Are you asking if you can legally put a picture of a mooney logo in your mooney? Mooney can barely stay in business. I dont think chasing people that make a logo and put it in their own airplane is high on their list. Just do it.
  10. I just went over the entire installation manual for the given STC. It goes over everything power plant but doesn't state anything about removing the fuel tabs. although there is no mention of the fuel tabs, the max legal fuel is increased from 75 gallons to 89 gallons under the limitations, however if you continue to fill until the tank is full, you should have about 98 to 104 gallons usable in the aircraft. as far as the tabs go, you might be able to switch them out for the 89 gallon or 98 gallon tabs under minor air frame mod since they aren't structural to the air frame in any way and don't apply to the limitations of the screaming eagle, but I don't know how the regulations work in Europe. I'd say this falls under a grey line, especially since the M20R and M20S share a parts catalog, so I couldn't think of anything stopping you from just changing them out to the 98 gallon tabs since the parts catalog would list it as an option. I do have the installation manual for the STC right in front of me, so If you do want pictures shoot me a message on Whatsapp at 9492678813 and I'll send over some screenshots. @StevenL757 and @LANCECASPER might have some insight as well, since they've both been around quite a while
  11. Id do remote xpndr over a comm. My personal preference. I use the comm a lot more than i use the transponder.
  12. Thats nearly 3 times what i pay.
  13. Id recommend a mask for this year. Not for covid but for the smoke. Its pretty bad this time of year up there.
  14. What rpm is the engine at 1.6gph?
  15. I used tims in long beach. I think it took like 2 weeks for an exchange. Easy to deal with and it went on for the life of the engine. I paid right around 2k.
  16. Commercial manuevers are a lot easier in a mooney than in a 172 or pa28. The plane is a lot more stable. Id say do it in your aircraft.
  17. Apperently theres a ca loophole for sales tax. If the first year the plane is out of california for more than half the year, the sales tax gets waved. I learned that from a buddy who bought a half million dollar bo. I wish I knew that before I bought my Slowvation.
  18. If its an excel, im pretty sure you can upload it on the forum post.
  19. Maybe the mixture of the engine at idle needs to be adjusted. If leaning doesnt work, I'd guess that means you need to add some fuel. By the way, this isn't the mixture you haveat your hand, but the screw under the cowling. Most mechanics with big bore TCMs will be able to help you.
  20. As far as i have read on here, rocket still supports the rocket and missile completely. @aviatoreb and @M016576 are 2 guys that have experience owning these airplanes. Maybe they can chime in.
  21. Have you thought of a 252 rocket maybe? Has the speed upgrade you're looking for and has the upgrades of a 252 that the 231 doesnt have.
  22. I think the jump would be worthwhile to an acclaim type s and only that. Maybe if other variables were included like wanting tks or ac that might help, but in the end, if its just speed, the difference isnt big enough to justify an upgrade from a 231 to a bravo in my opinion, unless youre looking for money to burn. If youre looking for money to burn, just send it.
  23. 130320-501 And 340293-507 on a newer gx and dx model
  24. Does anyone know of any salvaged mooney acclaims or post 04 ovations that would be in a salvage yard. Looking at possibly doing a project for the future and figured I might as well start looking for the parts now. Thanks Nik
