  1. g5/gi-275 connection to 440 is clearly in the avidyne install manual, looks exactly the same as 430 install
  2. Just do it, remember to put the gear down and you'll be fine.
  3. i don't believe you could make an uglier vehicle, mooney any day
  4. Aveo Redbaron XP Galactica LED Anticollision - Certified | Aircraft Spruce
  5. Shrug no clue, is what i was told by the IA. Honestly, I also think it'll look better once i paint the plane, maybe gain a knot pfft
  6. If you can install the aerocruze, you can install the Dynon, the parts are only expensive, not stupid expensive
  7. My oil cooler was replaced last summer due to being cracked by debris. I'm sure none of my perfect landings helped waiting for next annual to do the relocation.
  8. I want to move mine just to get it out of the direct path of rocks and debris.
  9. wish i magically had just 125k to fly, man i could make way past atp mins in a year, replace my engine and still have money left over. hehe really wsih i could figure out how to get another 600 hours in the next year, would love to try commercial flying
  10. I'm eventually going to get the 650/660's for my birdy but in the interim, i just replaced the bulbs with leds from spruce as for the beacon, can't speak highly enough about these
  11. looking at your panel you look pretty good, a 175 and a new G5/ GI-275 sill set you up nicely. I believe the CDI you have would be compatible btw. as you have 2x nav/comms already you could even go a gnx375 for adsb-in(i'd probably do this ) keep the dme, mine saved me on my checkride. DPE failed my gps, asked what i would do now, expecting me to start timing. instead, i just pointed at the DME, landed the plane and walked away IR rated.
  12. this is exactly what i did, installed surefly and haven't looked back.
  13. This thing is red-iculous, so bright and absolutely tiny, bet i gained a knot or two 20240413_144613.mp4
  14. I am planning to upgrade my secondary radio, a KX170B, this year, but I’m having difficulty deciding on its replacement Garmin 215 -- second nav/com, 8.33 channels, cheaper install or Garmin 355, -- second gps, 8.33 channels, but expensive install wondering why my avionics upgrades are never align with new tech, watch e-loran come out next year
  15. so actually held the thing today, it was way smaller than the pictures led me to believe, it's like half the size of a coffee mug. tiny. and talk about bright, my eyes still hurt
  16. Unfortunately, it only took smashing the old one
  17. I have one in each of the inlet ducts, they seem to be pretty accurate., match the thermometer in the windshield
  18. on a normal runway just hold her off, patience is key, she'll land perfectly fine, the problem happens when we get anxious and start trying to force the issue. so using this technique, my girl normally lands and is off the runway without using brakes in like 1500ish. treat her like it's a Diamond da40 and Not a Cessna 172 and you'll be fine
  19. really does sound like you guys make this more complicated than it needs to be, 70/80 ish until runway is made then just hold it off, landing will be short and sweet. higher than about 80ish you're gonna eat a lot of runway but still just hold it off. note if the plane really doesn't want to land, CHECK YOUR GEAR
  20. Just my luck, while flying IFR from memphis to houston, the main selection knob/button in my GNS disassembled itself and fell out of the radio while in a solid cloud layer. it also seems to have caused the radio to reset as the comm was on a incorrect channel any way, at some point the comm channel changed, i couldn't hear atc. pink line kept working after 20 mins of silence i finally try to call atc, nothing, look down wrong frequency and no knob to change it back. no response on second radio. finally looked up center frequency for some airport i was flying over, get atc and IMMEDIATELY get a "call this number" sigh, cry, cry, cry. ended up landing in shreveport to wait for vfr weather
  21. find a good cfi to do your transition training, you'll get the 10 hours. complex endorsement is like 1 flight, no biggie
  22. I'd just have the paint shop annual the plane, if qualified, it's going to be down weeks for paint might as well kill 2 birds 1 stone.
  23. Wow, just looked on controller, there are a LOT of mooneys for sale
  24. what i was thinking, if the wing is damage to the point where you need to remove this, it's probably scrap. the example above was to replace the spars, i'm sure that's in replacement wing territory
