Welcome Skytrekker, CONGRATS on n9440v, it's the plane that hooked me on Mooney's; thing takes off like a bat out of hell. I think I must've test flown it the day before you came and looked at it. I'm at KDWH, maybe the hangar next to where you got n9440v. -
woot it's fixed, Ray from Texas Flight came over and after giving me the stupid owner/pilot look proceeded to screw the transponder into its tray. I'm based in Houston KDWH. Got in 5 trips around the pattern, 3 squeakers, 1 good and 1 teeth rattler

ARGGHHHH, figured I would go out today get some touch and goes in, maybe do some night landings but it seems the airplane gods are out to get me. The shiny new stratus appareo transponder up and died, I suspected that thing was junk. what to do now? 9th day of ownership and already needs repairs sigh

maybe sunday, i'll fly to San Antonio or something. Last time I flew to san antonio, I was number two behind an airbus; controller had a bit of fun suggesting I keep my speed down.

i'm up for any excuse to go flying hehe. I purchased a winch from harbor freight for 10 bucks ( original price 165$ ) going to use it to pull the plane into the hangar. Now that I've owned the plane, all of 1 week today, i'm feeling a bit overwhelmed. Have no clue as what to do next.

Hey another quick question, do you guys remove the tiedown rings every flight ?

you know I was thinking bout that, what's the best kinda wax? was thinking of hitting it with some carnauba; probably take all day to wax. found a guy at the airport, kdwh, who does avionics. thinking about removing the HUGE beacon and replacing my kx170b with maybe a kx155 or gnc 255a. would love a set of sl30's but man those things are expensive.

is it as simple as sewing up a set? no special material required? also, if I have strobes on each wing and the tail, can I dump the rotating beacon.

mine has the curtain rods. I know it's totally 70's but I would love to find a new set.

Hello mooneyspace, just introducing myself, I'm the new owner of n7106v( less than 24hrs now ). I really can't believe I actually own an aircraft. Thanks to the previous owner for putting her back together.
