Evening Thought: I don't ignore anyone. I enjoy reading their arrogant pompous self important comments. Gives me perspective on what NOT to be. Give what you get in life. It is funny strange how often random events align. I will be out walking the dogs on an empty road for several minutes and right when I am going to cross...traffic. Can't count the number of times monitoring control frequency at non-towered airports as I approach and the frequency is quiet...Until I announce Ten southwest descending to pattern from ________in bound landing runway/airport. Boom there is another guy coming back. Always looking for other traffic....Re-assessing as "If quiet" I often call out 5 mile final runway/airport. There is a grass strip (east west) crossing the N/S runway. Some of those guys might be Nordo... Probably need to join the pattern and quit doing the straight in thing... Wonder why Beech pilot was not announcing? Wrong Freq? A couple diamonds, maybe thought he only had one and had visual on that one? Sad.

I would just like to personally thank all that have stepped forward to show support for the NTSB. That took a lot of courage. Thanks for setting the record straight. Your input has been recorded and will serve you well in the future. Like the NTSB. You know our motto "Getting to the facts". Like the FBI, CIA, EPA, DOT, DOD...We are ALL about the facts. I have two ceiling rheo's. One was on and intensity for spots. Second was panel light intensity with old individual panel lights.

You want to spend some money on great movie that WILL definitely have academy award nominations for acting etc...Go see "Hell or High Water". Chris Pine and Bridges are spot on acting. A great plot. I know how Sully ends....but we will still go and experience a "good landing" on the big screen. Glad I did not have to make that decision...which was the right one. EVERYONE lived. I am a sucker for a happy ending.

My dimmer was a rheostat on the ceiling. I still have spots on the overhead rheostat. Went with Nu-Lites on six pack and they have a separate dimmer on panel.

He exceeded my expectations in communication and quality/timeliness and service when he completed our tank repairs over a two year spread (to help us spread out the cost). Paul is a class act. Your children need to work the "Grand-Parent Guilt angle"... My two were experts in this category and combined with "Mom-Guilt angle"...controlled their college debt. Daughter took a job that had a three year $3k/year college loan repayment component in her offer. She had about $10k in total debt after grad school so is seeing the "bright side" of indebtedness...

George: Thank you and AOPA for the reply. I saw a report on ABC and it was highly sensationalized. They too had the spin that "My goodness, there are non-towered airports all over the country and thankfully no-one on the ground was injured/killed". So much more could have been done to point out the tragic loss of life but discuss ADSB and active traffic technology as well as see and avoid/communicate using radio...They have an agenda. Unfortunately their audience doesn't often get the rational counterpoint discussing GA safety stats/relative rarity of mid-air collisions and improvements in tech here and coming... Good reminder that the pattern is a place to be head up and out for All aboard. Please share any updates to the accident.
