  1. Here is what I have, fits under the filter just fine, 1 1/4” thin wall PVC, 30” long and straight, length can be longer, I install it from the pilot side
  2. Using someone else’s Weight & Balance to see your W&B changes over the years? Might as well just guess. The only way to know is have it weighed per the maintenance manual, all the old W&B sheets I have for mine ALL have errors, while small they are still errors.
  3. Personally I do stop n goes and generally depart the pattern and re enter in the Mooney, 172 is a different story….. a few months back I was doing a night CrossCountry and was at 3000 just east of Kingsville NAS, 3 King Airs in the pattern at NAS doing Touch-N-Goes…. Pretty cool to watch as we flew over
  4. It’s tight back there, get either one of these and your be fine, as far as the modified PVC pipe to drain the oil filter, I’ve got one that fits under the filter and doesn’t miss a drop….
  5. 6 to 7 years on both the Mooney and Cessna… both running sealed Gill batteries. If for what ever reason it’s been over a month with out running I will put just a regular charger on for an hour or so, 20~30 minutes at 15amp then back to 2 amps for the remaining time.
  6. Great way to remember which is which…….. thanks
  7. My buddy has a 2016 F-150 Crew Cab, all of the door glass is laminated, my 2014 all 4 a tempered. In the event of a rollover my guess is ALL the glass would be fractured at the least, once fractured it’s pretty easy to kick out the windshield, side glass would be even easier due to the fact it’s only attached at the bottom
  8. Not all automotive side glass is tempered, they has started using laminated glass to try and keep the occupants in during a rollover
  9. The photo is of fuel valve/strainer?
  10. I fly out of a non-towered field, this happened just over a year ago….. I make my calls starting 10 miles out, I also have everyone in the plane looking for aircraft right after my initial call. We have Piper Cubs to Citations that fly regularly….. keep your eyes looking outside. Look close at the photo, there are 2 Cubs in the photo, I saw the surveillance video, they hit twice in the air, after the 2nd midair one rolled over and hit the ground, the other Cub followed and hit on top of the other…..3 times they collided and both walked away, back injuries for both one requiring surgery. Keep your head on a swivel and live to fly another day
  11. @lithium366 glad to help, I’ve gotten way more from MS than I’ll ever be able to give back
  12. This help?
  13. Wouldn’t worry too much about the wing, we’ve had 3 people (460#’s) trying to decide the best way to get in…. I tell pretty much everyone over 150#’s not to push, stretch or in any other way stress the seat, door…etc
  14. LASAR has the kits, as others have said top it off with 5606 and see if it helps, the reservoir is for both the flaps and the brakes so as the fluid gets low the flaps suck air first…
  15. It’s less than 100 bucks for both the pump & actuator kits. Do them both, took about a day total.
  16. Technically I reused the same bulb, so it only takes one….
  17. I’ve had them completely apart before to repair it, there is a focus tube that can get broken fairly easy so be careful,. I don’t remember it being that complicated just to change out the bulb (sits in the focus tube), will take a look at them this afternoon and get back to you on how they come apart
  18. Congrats on your new bird
  19. Thanks and I fully understand needing a break
  20. Thanks @carusoam, I noticed he had been summoned several times in different posts with no response from him which wasn’t normal.
  21. Looks like @Denver98 hasn’t had any activity in a while either…..maybe he’ll see this
  22. Seems like gsxrpilot (Paul Steen) hasn’t been active on MS for several months (May’ish) which is odd seeing how he was very active. Any idea if he’s OK?
  23. Looks nice and the price was less than I expected…"Quick question though …… how long did it take to find a Mooney with UT colors?…….
  24. I think if your buying a plane you find out as much as you can about it. Logbooks only tell the story the author wants told. Be aware that some of the answers to questions asked are more opinions than facts
  25. I have the door seal by Aircraft Door Seals on both the entry & baggage doors, it seals really well but you have to extremely careful not to damage the seal after its installed
