I am looking for a step 840071-000 for a 1980 M20K and appreciate any referrals you can make to sources for a salvage part in good condition. I suspect the step on my plane was a casualty of a gear-up before my ownership. I have checked with Lasar$$. Step 840071-000.pdf

I checked local salvage, no joy. I will check the for evidence of prior step when out at airport later this week. Thanks for the speedy reply.

My 1980 M20K does not have a fuselage mounted step. I am not sure if it was an optional accessory, or if was a casualty of a prior gear up. I would like to install a step if possible. The trim chain cover on my M20K is broken and beyond repair. The pictures of your "printed" replacement look great, better than the original. Are you still willing to print covers. As another easier option, if you are willing to share the file I can print it at the local maker space. Let me know how much you want for your ingenuity and trouble. Mike

I have a friend that weighs 350 pounds; he is a big guy overall, looks like a retired football player. He would like to go for a ride. However, I have concerns about fitting him in the front seat. But even before that, I am concerned about his just walking on the wing. I would hate to cave in the wing structure. Anyone have experience in this area? Should I be concerned?

Can a GB engine be converted to and LB in the field? If so what is required and what is the estimated cost of materials?

Can you anyone recommend someone to perform a thorough pre-buy or annual on an M20F in North Carolina? There is a thread on this topic but it is dated 2016. Thanks for your help.
