  2. My mechanic and I have a great relationship. We talk on a regular basis and I try to bring food by the hangar on occasion. I try very hard to give good descriptions of what’s going on when the plane gets dropped off and try to stay engaged through the process. Depending on what’s going on, I’ll do the work with his guidance. Again, trust has been built over the years. I’ll always answer his call or return it as quickly as I can. We’ve also had lots of conversations about what I want from a maintenance stand point and he knows if something needs to be fixed to do it. So far in 7 years I’ve yet to have occasion to question why he fixed something. As far as scheduling goes, the ladies in the office handle that. Donuts and chocolates help create openings in the schedule. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  3. The rheostat is part of a big mess of wires behind the panel. There should be a inline fuse back there somewhere. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  4. I want to hear about this turbo for an M20E... Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  5. Great looking airplane and I’m really happy for you. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  6. I’m just trying to be nice and protect your reputation. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  7. I feel like I’m watching my best friend get married after dating around a for years. Congrats Chocks! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  8. One thing to keep in mind is that any future G1000 upgrade might require waas as part of the upgrade path. I think this was a requirement for both Cessna and Beech when they rolled out the upgrade. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  9. More than likely not. If it does, that’s a heck of a price. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

  11. Definitely a long way away, but it’s a Mooney. What’s the best way to get in touch with you to talk? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  12. Who would you recommend? I’m located in Texas but would travel. At a minimum I’m looking to install a GFC500 and whatever needs to drive it. I’ve got a GTN650 so that’s a start. Thanks! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  13. I used blue painters tape when my plane was parked on a ramp. I’d put a big piece over the ports so it was hard to miss on the walk around Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  14. He is in marketing, you wouldn’t really expect him to provide good information, would you? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  15. I asked on post #2 how this was related to Mooney’s...... Just saying...... Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  16. Wade’s rules for being safe in the pandemic: 1. Wash your grubby paws 2. Don’t lick door knobs 3. If you’re sick, stay at home 4. If you see someone that looks sick, stay away from them 5. Don’t pick your nose 6. Wash your grubby paws 7. Drink good booze Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  17. What does this have to do with Mooneys? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  18. I equate selling an airplane to selling a house. Doing it yourself or having a broker help is a personal decision. The question is how much non-sense do you want to personally put up with. How many silly/ridiculous emails and phone calls do you want to handle? Do you have the time to deal with it? And lots, lots more. You can make your life easier if you have your logbooks scanned and can easily share them. I’d definitely set boundaries on what can be opened up for a pre-buy (no pulling jugs). If you look at the available inventory of planes you’ll see that there is pretty good demand out there so I’d expect to be pretty busy answering questions. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  19. I’m really surprised that no one has mentioned that Mooney’s have the tail on the correct way. We all know that’s why they are more efficient. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  20. I'll add to this- Have your logbooks organized Ask good questions I find a bottle of whiskey or wine as a "thank you" when the job is done goes a long way. I'm not above bribery.
  21. I hear if you leave things like that in the plane hangar elves will sometimes make themselves useful... Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  22. Interest rates are really low right now as well Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  23. I’ll chime in from the warm and sunny South. You might want to consider throwing some heat into the cabin. The plastic trim can get really brittle when it gets cold and the avionics can use some loosening up. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  24. I’m working with them now.... I’d love to do a new panel, but that’s just not in the cards right now. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  25. I’m having a hard time finding a right hand plastic panel overlay. I found the correct one for vantage plane plastics but for the life of me I can’t find the correct right hand one. Any ideas?? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
