  1. My NACA duct has a vertical crack right down the middle of it....dont know if there is some weird vibration going on? But no cracks in the sheet metal.
  2. The case of tempest I ordered from spruce first of October shipped the other day, should have them soon. My CC was compromised so had to get a new one, didn’t update the order, luckily they emailed me.
  3. I have a friend who does upholstery, so no labor cost, have a decent understanding of the covering materials but what I am lacking is the foam portion. Any sources? Looked briefly at Oregon aero but didn't see what I wanted. Will shoot them an inquiry.
  4. I just ordered a case month ago from AS, was showing about 4 months......so getting better!?!?!?!
  5. Good Question......below is not a good technical answer.....but some clues. I would think they have to cue off of one primary drone to follow. Swarm technology enables multiple drones to communicate with each other like bees, working together towards a shared end goal rather than having each drone’s flight path individually prescribed. Using GPS or radio frequencies to position themselves, drones can wirelessly chat to each other to ensure they maintain their spacing and avoid collisions. They can also determine which of the drones is best suited for each job required to bring the show to life.
  6. I read somewhere that it, i.e. the error, was moving south, possibly indicating a truck was causing some type of interference.
  7. I just thought it was an interesting piece of kit...... and seemed "affordable"....... the meaning of that is dubious. I googled walter turboprop overhaul/repair and all of the references are really old and finding current information wasn't easy, almost like they have been purged from the internet. P&W comes up as the first response.
  8. Well seems relatively cheap. I realistically have no idea what I am looking at....just browsing. 2002 AMERICAN LEGEND TURBINE LEGEND For Sale in San Antonio, Texas | Controller.com
  9. They are 430W boxes
  10. I guess I was looking for someone to tell me definitely that parts were not available for repair. would make my decision easier, do I spend 10 AMU on new avidyne box, 17 for garmin box or 2 amu for repairing this one and kicking the eventual upgrade down the road. my friend says not to spend one more nickel on the 430, but he is also a lot more spendy than me. One thought I had is get a new box for primary, be it garmin or avidyne and then repair radio 2. Spends 15 amu pretty quick. I am a big believer in waiting.......
  11. Still perfectly readable, but they just seemed to appear in last couple of months. I am just wondering if it will get worse.
  12. Looks like both of them are starting to delaminate/discolor. How much worse do you think it will get? Someone told me flat repair repair is up to $1800 at garmin these days.
  13. Not an expert, but I looked at some Acclaims online and the cowl shape looks similar to what us Ovation drivers currently have. I didn't even seen any cooling vents, the air intake looks different. Just being a CB here and not sure a carbon fiber cowl would be what is needed. I have a sawzall and could cut and fiberglass whatever is necessary..... Would you even need two turbos? This question was posted seriously to gain feedback as I would consider spending MM (My Money) for this. The upgrade options are few and far apart and this would be a useful addition to the Ovation line. I am nearby the Turbo folks in ADA OK and told them I would be fine bring my mooney by for an evaluation. Fly safe.
  14. on controller only 2 acclaims for sale, one was a 2016 for $625K and a 2007 with the G1000 and no WAAS for $430K.
  15. I sent an email last night....he responded this morning. Told me Ovations were high on the list. Needs 10 "straw" orders (don't know that expression) and cost would be $55K to $60K.
  16. I will start taking deposits........
  17. Since I bought the mountain place in Wyoming, still no home or hangar, but that is separate discussion, I have been contemplating how to get over the mountains on a regular basis. My ovation sort of runs out of steam at 13K and was thinking turbo normalization would be the way to go. I know there is a kit for beech products was just thinking there might be some demand for the Ovation? I realize it will be expensive, but what isn't? The acclaims, etc. all turbo charged, I realize the difference. Just thinking/daydreaming. I send an email to the turbo alley folks, but no response. Don't even know if they are still in business, web site looks like it hasn't been updated for 20 years.
  18. Thanks Clarence, will take a look at it near future and provide some feedback.
  19. Flying along fat dumb and happy and I see the EGT's have climbed.....look over at fuel flow and it has increased by about a gallon, readjust mixture and continue down the virtual road and see it happens again, now I am paying attention as I mentally think about the fuel controller going bad or something else dramatic. I decide that certainly is the worst case situation so I put a pencil mark on the mixture control and if it didn't turn in 33% of a revolution all by itself over the course of several minutes. Is it possible to tighten this cable setup? I would assume it is just some type of friction pad somewhere. Any thoughts?
  20. For you guys carrying a tube and tire around for years, you will never ever need it, the day after you loan it to somebody, guaranteed flat tire. My first airplane C-152 I hauled around a spare landing light and nav lights, not once in 15 years did they ever go out. Your mileage may vary.
  21. I have a cheap harbor freight one.....and it shows. Even the tiniest pebble stops it. I am not fat but there just isn't a lot of room when cleaning the belly.
  22. Unfortunately I suspect about 80% of mooneyspacers dress like this, I am a young kid at 52 still wearing blue jeans shorts, weave belt and new balance sneakers....with white socks.
  23. do you have extended range tanks on this? I assume your bladder is super size.......
  24. What are they overhauling? Seems to me if ain’t broke, don’t fix it…..
