  1. Current price at Aircraft Spruce is $230 each. Crazy!
  2. https://avunlimited.co/ Has anyone used this company for landing gear disks? It’s based in South Africa and it sees they “build” the disks as required, like an owner supplied part. Angelos
  3. What is it, what does it consist of? My J is due it’s 500 Mag check, it is at annual right now. Mechanic wants to send away for rebuild due to 500 hr check. Both mags check just fine during run up, 80 on Left, 100 on Right. Does anything need to be done? Thanks Angelos
  4. Where is it $3500 for 750 to 750 Xi swap?
  5. Hi John,

Just saw your post and where you are located. Congrats on your move to the free state of FL.

I never saw a post on your completed interior. How did it go, any pics?

      Angelos,

Thanks for the note. The interior upgrade went so well I sold it!

In reality, my essential tremor is getting worse, and on an approach down close to minimums, I had one which almost caused a LOC event. I love flying, but not enough to put myself or my passengers (usually my wife) in danger. So I had Jimmy Garrison list it, and he sold it in about 1 week to a Navy Commander up in northern Vermont! If you search Flightaware for N5767Z, you will see his recent travels.

I still go up with a friend in his Commander 114, but I am never the sole pilot. Somewhat bittersweet, but I can still get my flying fix. And another friend, who now has my job at my previpous company, has an F model he lets me drive with him every once in a while.

Lakeland is a blast! This first year we have traveled a bit spending a couple weeks in central Europe on a Viking river cruise, and I am traveling back and forth to Texas to handly my mother's affairs as she is 96 and lives in her house since she refuses to leave it. Because of her health, she requires help about 14 hours a day, so I stay busy. My wife has been trekking to the beach every other month with a friend she has known since grade school, and they are currently planning a two week trip to France, England, and Germany next month. Her friend still works and has to go to those spots on business, so Laura is accompanying her as her "assistant".

What adventures have you had lately? Give me a shout if you make it to Sun-n-Fun. Would love to catch up F2F.

      John

  6. The problem seemed to “have resolved” itself after the third unit. Installer just kept sending the unit back to Garmin, and just like that after the third unit all was fine. I was never told what, if anything, they did to resolve the issue.
  7. It’s time. I’m probably looking at the original paint scheme with a “pull” of the stripes onto the tail.
  8. Does anyone have experience with Alabama Plane Painting in Luverne Alabama?
  9. We’re in Texas right now visiting daughter, else we would be there. Hope all have a great time.
  10. We traveled from the Florida panhandle to AGL for our annual, Looks like we will be heading to Longview now. Not a bad trip, daughter lives in Houston. We’ll see you next May. Best of luck on this new adventure.
  11. I replaced the Servo once about ten months after installation. I thought I might have escaped the latest round of faulty servos..
  12. During a recent flight I got these two error messages. First leg of the flight the PTRIM lit up on the G3X but the GFC 500 continued operating normally. Trim was adjusting automatically, I could see the trim wheel moving. Second leg of the flight the TRIM UP or TRIM DOWN notification was displayed. I had to trim manually. Any ideas Thanks
  13. Absolutely love them! I’ve had three annuals at AGL and have been very satisfied with the work, time and cost. Definitely recommend.
  14. I have a G3X w/EIS quits you are grounded. If you have a G5 as a backup to your G3X and a JPI 900 you can fly to your avionics installer to have the G3X repaired.
  15. Just replaced these with LEDs, all work. Nav bulbs are LEDs. $500 takes it all. Angelos
  16. I have this issue on climb out. I set IAS climb at 90 knots and will see anywhere from 88 to 93 knots on the climb. At times the pitch correction to the correct airspeed is a bit excessive, especially in IMC. I started using VS climb out and it works much better. Kind of disappointed.
  17. Would anyone have hangar space available from early May to mid August. Currently based at Eglin AFB, KVPS, so anything around the area would be great. Thanks Angelos
  18. this is why it is called the Emerald Coast! Destin Pass.
  19. Did you ever have your plane painted? Pic.
  20. Yup, and love it. Pic is old now, center stack has GTN 750 and GNC 255.
  21. Does anyone have any info on the maintenance shop at KECP? I need my defroster system replaced, I have the parts, now for a mechanic.
  22. That’s very true. It did not have any water, nor was there any evidence that water had penetrated at any time. Maybe I’ll just monitor it after I get it back together just to make sure my installation is as good as the original.
  23. I don’t think their is a drain hole in my lens either, I’ll be drilling.
  24. Mine just flashes, no rotating.
