  4. Whole heartedly agree with the service receive from PA, they did my panel also. I’ll be going back early next year to get the center stack worked on; GTN 750, GNC 255, and GMA 245R.

  7. WIND! When we flew on there for our annual the wind cross wind was crazy. It seemed to change direction on short final and mid field. Fly an approach and you should stay well clear of any obstacles.
  8. Haven’t had the opportunity to speak with anyone this holiday weekend. An electrical engineer friend of mine said that it is probably a grounding issue. He proceeded to tell me how touch screens work, and lost me right after “the way they work is....”. Tomorrow is another day.
  9. The GMA 245R MKR, PMA works directly with the G3X, and is for certified aircraft. I called Garmin today and verified it.
  10. Let me clear, the actual unit still worked using the buttons, but the touch function would not work. This issue started about 3 months after installation. It would work on the ground, about 1hour in the air, then freeze. On a couple of occasions it rebooted, but still would not work properly. Just had the unit replaced today, about 10 minutes after takeoff it froze. The shop was closing so we headed home. It never recovered. Any ideas?
  11. Where can one get the “most current” service/annual checklist?
  12. I guess I will service it with distilled water, as Clarence states, charge it and see if it holds the charge. I’ll have a 5 year old battery as a spare.
  13. I have an EDM 900, and it reflected correctly during my flights. Is that all that I can check?
  14. My avionics shop weighed my airplane after a completely new panel, got rid of almost everything including electric standby vacuum pump, for 2-G3Xs, G5, EDM 900, GFC500., I gained about 2lbs in useful load. Moral of the story don’t get airplane weighed, do the math.

  16. Update, ordered new concord, took old battery out checked the cells, ALL completely dry. Now I’m a bit confused and upset at the same time. I just had an annual in late May. This should not have happened, or could it have?
  17. I fly 100 to 110 hrs in a 9month year, airplane sits for the other three months. Leaning towards a concord, what says the crowd?
  18. Had to go get a voltmeter. Terminals are tight. Battery showed 24.8 volts no power applied, dropped to 4.6 and kept dropping. Any need to check voltage regulator with this reading from the battery? Also, is this standard battery behavior, start one week then 9 days latter dead with nothing left on or anything else that would drain it. Battery is a Gill and it’s 5 years old.
  19. Haven’t flown since a week ago this past Saturday. Went out today to beat up the pattern, when I flipped the master switch on all a got was a loud click followed by a less loud click a second or two latter. Battery or......
  20. I don’t have all of it left, no 700, TC, or ADI. Throw me a number.
