  1. My airport repaved all the taxiways between hangars. They published timelines well in advance, provided tiedown areas for people blocked in, updated us during the work and had an email list if you wanted extra updates. It really isn’t that hard to make people aware and it saves a lot of asspain in the end. That being said, I’d probably drop it (but I wouldn’t apologize for being pissed!). Clearly you’re at the airport a lot, they didn’t even have to try hard to make it known to you unlike the guy who lives out of state and shows up once every two months.

  3. So I looked today and my throttle says don’t lube, the other 2 don’t say anything. Throttle is a 2 year old mcfarlane cable from Mooney.
  4. So my -930 does both cht and egt. Seems they have several different software versions for the -900s and-930s. It even puts “nrm” next to them.
  5. Typically angle valve cylinders are more expensive. I want to say I paid $1800 to buy a first run OH last year for my A1A (my cylinder was chrome, flaking, and trash). That being said, it depends on how much work they need to do to your cylinder to OH it. Also, there are only Lycoming cylinders for an A1A, I don’t think you can get superior cylinders…
  6. Only curious because you mentioned it… mine say not to apply lubricant, are there different versions that do need lubed?
  7. But it’s not that you just need a “sporadic” feed… aren’t they using it for actual atc up there? They’re gonna want a continuous high quality track.
  8. The turboprop I fly for work (2015 PA-46T) is not diversity and we do fly it into Canada. No way we could stay low. This could get expensive. Funny thing is the company is Canadian, although this airplane is based in the US.
  9. Honestly, Garmin should be paying him for figuring all this out and then posting it for all of us! He’s saving them tons on fixing their documentation and future tech support.
  10. Also, there’s a shortage of good mechanics and there are more than enough airplanes to keep good shops busy. Unless you do it yourself, I’m surprised we’re still getting the $3k annuals.
  11. Guys, any chance this can go all the way back to an issue with the gascolator? Does it seem the same no matter which tank you’ve selected? I guess I’m thinking about large air bubbles being pulled through.
  12. Your g5s are on a charger? That wouldn’t be normal unless you leave the master on?

  14. Wowza, I got lucky on that one! Mine were installed 2/14/2020 and they aren't affected... or at least they're not in that batch of serial numbers. I haven't had any issues with the batteries either.

  16. It’s ACF’s job to migrate everywhere. If it’s coming out thick and is a big mess, perhaps they used too much, but you should definitely see some leaking out.
  17. So nothing “undesirable” about not having it, more relaxing to have it. It helps smooth out the bumps in light turbulence and will keep the airplane coordinated for you in most conditions. Basically just freeing you up even more to focus on bigger picture tasks. Since we don’t have rudder trim, it may or may not alleviate all your right rudder during climb , but it will keep you coordinated at all your cruise airspeeds and during descent. My F (without yaw damper) requires a little right rudder in cruise depending on IAS and it requires left rudder in decent. Yaw damper takes care of that and helps in turbulence. Seems worth it to me if you’re getting the gfc500.
  18. Necessary, no, but I also don’t think you’ll regret it. Price seems reasonable too, especially considering 2xG5s by themselves (installed) is typically 10-12k. Are you getting the oat sensor for Tas and winds? I’d include that as well.

  20. Did the shop wire it correctly? Maybe the shop put the cb between your electric trim switch and it was meant to be on the trim motor?
  21. It’s really similar to the g1000 gfc700 in a lot of ways! Glad you guys got a nice day to fly over there, this side of the state was nice too and we went for $100 hamburgers in idaho. Bouncy fuel pressure and all.
  22. Don’t thank me when you see the bill… the cables aren’t cheap and the mechanic is going to have to take their time to get them both just right. Probably have a switch on the throttle for the gear warning horn too.
  23. Tough to say if it’s that exact part with the restrictor or just an elbow, but there’s something like that at the back of the servo. Sorry, pipes were too hot to get a good picture!
  24. Just so you’re aware, that throttle cable looks like it could be original too. Prop looks like it was replaced. How’s the throttle feeling? Mine got pretty stiff and started a small “rebound” from full forward when I replaced it and the new one feels so much better.
  25. You should call around to the MSCs and see if someone has one in stock. Start with lasar, maxwell, maybe dugosh. They may have to order from Mooney, so try to find one in stock. The other way to get one is to get together all the measurements and send them to the people who make the cables for Mooney. Can’t think of the name right now…. You will get the same exact cable for cheaper as an owner produced part (you supplied the dimensions). They may even have one on the shelf. Ahh, mcfarlane, thats the company. So those are your two routes… MSC or mcfarlane.
