  1. You can do it in sections. You have to remove the windows section to get to the screws for the lower section. I am 25 hours into a Rustolem Universal paint and primer make over. Did not do all the prep work, just removed the left over velcro glue. I did cook the paint in the sun for a day before reinstalling. There was one split that I fixed with Shoe goop. My panels were in ok shape, just a nasty yellow
  2. So there I was last night flying along no hands on the yoke steering with my feet hazy day but not too bad. PC leveler working great (gone through last year by Brittian) plane trimmed out thinking to myself this flying thing is pretty cool... One landing was OK the other a bit better. Overall the PC lessons the work load so you are not as tired out thus more alert and more able to deal with issues as they may pop up.
  3. Last time I looked Harris county Texas DBAs were not so online. Now there are, but you have do a login to get the film or go to the office. So then you are left to matching addresses with the online information. Which is not too hard either.
  4. Texas is $300.00 to register. No fees a year if your revenue is low. The problem is most states publish the registered agents and officers. If it is a Texas LLC I can find the owners in about 3 minutes. Montana looks to be the same. https://app.mt.gov/bes/ Also the FAA registration will show a transfer from your name to the LLC and the address are probably the same. You still have to do a tax report You did not mention getting your Tax ID from the IRS. I just use Turbo Tax. The hardest part in Texas was finding a name that was not already taken. There may be more anonymity by creating a DBA under the LLC. In Texas that is a form with the County Clerk and not sure they are online searchable. Not an attorney, not an accountant, every now and then I can do a nice landing
  5. Tang, microchips and hook and loop fastener. Got it. What has the space program done for us lately.
  6. On the lottery list Murphry Moose Bearhawk There were a couple of these at the airport the other day. Taxied out to mid field. Were off the ground in 40 feet http://www.flyingmag.com/aircraft/lsasport/just-aircraft-launches-stretched-superstol
  7. They are past due when they look like this. I think these were 1989 version
  8. If it is Airforce 1 when the president is on board, Is it Papal one when the pope is on board?
  9. stainless brush. Did not get it all just enough so the velcro would stick for the new carpet. If you are going back with wing walk (which seems to me to be bed liner with some sand mixed in) the old glue will just add to the texture. Cleaners and enclosed space and summer time heat seemed like a health situation.
  10. There is some stuff going on with the old design and training new rocket engineers. Each one was custom made and revised as they learned. They started up a fuel pump on one of the spares. http://arstechnica.com/science/2013/04/how-nasa-brought-the-monstrous-f-1-moon-rocket-back-to-life/
  11. Loaded up the version 2 and had some time to play with in the car. Was able to pick up two planes with both Avare and DroidEFB. For DroidEFB I was using ilevel with stratux changed SID in the options menu. Pretty cool.
  12. With refining around Houston. You would think the prices would be lower here. Unless the Chevron Mississippi refinery is where FL get their fix from
  13. My understanding of FlightAware is that they snapshot the weather at the beginning of your track, or the end of the track, or some other random time.

  15. If these two phrases are thought or said "it should be OK when this and that happen" "we should be fine" It is now a no go. I have tested this new approach several times and it seems to work out pretty well.
  16. how how how a shack outside La Grange. Saw them a couple week ago in La Grange
  17. 9 inches of uncompressed clearance
  18. If he does good work and you trust him there is something to be said. He has tools, rent and training time and documentation time. And Mooney take a bit longer to work on so there is something there. You would have to go find the mandrels and a vice to make the hoses yourself.
  19. it is $1100.00 for eight firewall forward fancy internal fire sleeved silicon hoses from PHT when you by the whole set
  20. $100 for the belt - a bit much more like $25 - depends on where you source from and $300 for the two oil cooler hoses. - Depends on if you got fancy silicon light tan - also have to cut up a wrench to get one of them tight. Not as fun to do with the mags on. http://www.aircraftspruce.com/menus/ep/hose_0stratoflex.html They did take off my oil cooler and I had them reinstall my old one. -the oil lines and oil cooler together is 2 hrs. if in the cowl can be a bit tricky for what should be a simple 4 bolt affair. 30-45 minutes Include a flush? about right I think the prop/ alternator belt is 2 1/2 hrs, about right. Total time is 4 1/2 hrs. The shop bill is $1200 which I have not paid as of yet. Subtract the parts at $400 from the $1200 bill leaves $800 for labor. $800/4.5 hrs is about $175/hr. So, is that out of line? Depends on the agreed to hourly rate
  21. I would think drilling the two rivets out that hold the limit switch in and finding a replacement limit switch would work. But I have just seen pictures on the internet. There seem to be a fair amount of them on flea bay. Show us pictures of the underside.
  22. Or you can carry one of these for you and your friends who may need one. http://www.rockler.com/1-2-power-twist-plus-link-v-belt?utm_source=google&utm_medium=cpc&utm_term=&utm_content=pla&utm_campaign=PL&sid=V9146&gclid=Cj0KEQjwms-vBRDlsM7utpaJ47ABEiQAIpKjTBbPO-hxwmVx8KJbLJYP3PRTeYbrxRglGcJrqJFh-ngaAmK78P8HAQ Yes prop off to change. Takes about 30 minutes to take off. safety tieing the prop is should we say is intricate. I was going to make a tool for torquing the bolts for my A&P that did mine.
  23. Funny mine is placarded "Missiles" You must have the close air support Mooney version.
  24. Since you like getting your hands into it. Make your own panels and cut your own carpet. Spend a couple of days getting to know your plane on the inside. Save yourself lots of money
  25. also if you have large feet make sure you are not hitting the brakes. Somewhere in the pattern I think "heels on floor" "heels on floor" and wiggle the rudder.
