  1. Steve I dont know about Will's availability, as he isnt one of our instructors, but he is a quality Mooney CFI for sure. He stepped in for transitioning an airline pilot once when, because of the mandatory NY quarantine 2 week measures were in place, we could not really be of good service and did a terrific job as he always does. @Fly Boomer one of these days when advertising is needed to sustain our services, we will stand a web page up
  2. Byron, the mooney flyer has a listing of Mooney CFI's in it, and Mooney Pros, inc will send an instructor to your clients to transition them. Have your clients reach out to me and we can get them set up. mike at mooneypros.com
  3. Hank, in 2019 Tesla's Australian Hornsdale distributed power system saved over 54 million for the Australian customers and paid for itself in one year [1]. As an engineer, I know you get this, and understand you might not like it, but the data does speak for itself. One of these days, wall street will conclude Teslas main focus isnt that of a car manufacture after all, but in fact is a disrupter of energy as well. Yea, there is all kinds of legislation popping up in various states to prevent the consumer from being in charge of their own charges, but that is what lobbyist do..make laws that cost somebody to make someone else more $ [1] https://guidehouseinsights.com/news-and-views/teslas-autobidder-platform-is-one-example-of-a-new-energy-future
  4. The conundrum Twitter find themselves in now is interesting. Larry Fink telling Blackrock pension fund holders he just voted to not make them a substantial profit might be a bit uncomfortable for their legal team. Elon dumping his twtr stock sends twtr sub $20 and making the board's legal team a bit uncomfortable. Elon taking out a 30B loan to buy will make a few banks uncomfortable. Current admin losing its bullhorn making the mouthpieces uncomfortable. Prospect of not being able to track Elon's jet making the kid uncomfortable. Maybe Ill buy a few shares and buy a put for after 420 to hedge it all. Leftist complaining about a billionaire owning a media platform is quite humorous popping the corn and watching this 3D chess game
  5. as do I. Elons' companies are a major target for talent poaching for good reason and as such, a high turnover happens. Yea, he is probably tough to work for as he expects everyone to contribute and responsible for their own actions, work extremely hard at fulfilling the mission of bettering humanity. And I am sure a lot of execs got in thinking it would be an easier ride so they left. I highly doubt he spends all day $hit posting and trolling on twitter based on his accomplishments but who knows, maybe he accomplishes all this while he sleeps
  6. Congrats Tom! It will be great to meet you and watch you do the mental % torque to MP calcs
  7. thats one way to get rid of that pesky mixture knob
  8. Actually, I am closer to Key West than Pensacola logistically, however there are a few MS members around the area that could better give local info. For annuals, I would of course recommend Maxwell, or SWTA, both a bit further than the range requested.
  9. Tax abatements are huge to attract companies and have hiring quota's attached or are recinded retroactively normally. I dont believe CA offered squat, but Musk believed in the resource of talent to get in the bay area. He now knows he can go anywhere and the talent seeks him out. Graduates of engineering school place SpaceX and Tesla as their top desirable places to be employed. Tesla did take a Fed loan in 2008, as did F, GM and Chrysler. Tesla paid theirs back early with interest. GM needs another and hasnt paid the debt service even, but I digress. Eric is right, there are 2 kinds of people, those that hate Elon Musk and his successes with Space, Energy, Transportation, communication and soon social media, and those that applaud his ingenuity, groupthink disruption, and free speech posture. as Mark Levin would say, Im done.
  10. I think it was CA trying to tax him for "their fair share" after he left, not the other way around.
  11. Actually, the military is talking to spacex about starlink, but to what extent I am clueless and wish to remain so. Elon's disdain for shutting down free speech was never more evident when he refused to censor russian speech on starlink, while providing comms for Ukraine, something our current government couldnt/wouldnt do. His goal for involvement with twitter is really quite clear and he has stated as much many times. Perhaps when twitter banned the Babylon Bee he decided to take action to prevent speech surpression
  12. The left doesnt like him at all. He wont bend the knee. They are going nuts right now because they realize a big tool of control they had is now out of their hands, just like when he told the bay area to twirl The right erroneously think he is all about the green new deal, but he is not, rather he is for advancing the world towards sustainable energy, just not at the cost of society, He realizes this, like everything in the universe, takes time. As such, he suggest we immediately drill and fire up nuke plants to reverse the "problem" we now have on our hands, and that doesnt sit well with some on the left at all. Politically, the best I can figure is he is a libertarian
  13. for being so passive, he is already influencing
  14. Funny how one still gets rewarded for hard work, brilliance, and filling a need vs being a taker or living off the system. A leader, yes. He is not a religious leader as you suggest, IMO, however
  15. Its a great thing Tesla is moving to LFE batteries that use iron lithium and no Cobalt, heh?
  16. Maybe, Elon now owns 4 times more stock than Jack Dorsey in Twitter. Jack has now been deballed muted. Getting the rest of the gubbermint out of it might be a bit harder. Elon's stated disdain for the erosion of free speech was why he purchased it. He has been pretty successful in what he has set out to accomplish so far in spite of headwinds from all corners. Once I capitulated and quit betting against Elon, life has been personally much much better. Yes Elizabeth, I pay my fair share. Thankfully, there are those that still do bet against him leaving a huge window of opportunity for those less jealous and biased of his successes. I am convinced he didnt do this for the look at me, as he doesnt need to do that, he cant escape the press anyway just as Buffet, Rockefeller etc couldnt in their day.
  17. Elon just bought 9.2% of twitter today, because their algorithm for disinformation checking was preventing free speech. Things will be way different on twitter going forward. Meanwhile, the market has been opened now for 1 hour, and he has made 600 million on this investment. He now has more than enough disposable cash to buy Mooney. All he needs is a compelling reason such a move would benefit mankind, his main decision driver.
  18. ambiguity is the bedrock of ongoing legal profitability.
  19. and 'breakers' instead of pilots
  20. Today, Reece soloed in his 2009 Acclaim type S. This is the first time I have worked with a student pilot in my years of instructing, Reece is exceptional in his abilities and will make a great next gen Mooney pilot and owner. Well done Reece! If your personal standards are high enough, you can train in a Mooney
  21. As cold as its been in the great northland, it is probably normal. If your operating the fire breathing beast LOP, it will be exacerbated some. If your touring in the FL's, heat will also be impeded. Sure fire fix is a trip down to Tampa and Ill check it out Mike
  22. If Tesla bought Mooney, they wont be building M20's. No worry here Robert. They wont be buying it to continue down the same path. Unless you know a good IA that can work on an Electric VTOL, it might be well served to let Tesla service work on your Tesla plane.
  23. 1300 for a X performance, will be lower when I can get it from Tesla where my driving habits wont be "group thinked" but individually evaluated. I believe Tesla's hold 3 of the top 4 safest car ratings from NHTSA, but may be mistaken.
