  1. we got the 124J hoses from PHT and my mechanic installed them today... He was very impressed with PHT. Thanks for the info... Driver
  2. I don't think so. I have not seen anything on the change.. I replaced mine last year..
  3. Flying to KSMX is doable but returning to KPAO in rain and heavy IFR traffic is not fun. See you next time
  4. Wrong fuel was the first thing that came to my mind. The rate of descent would have been less if he was on at least one partial engine and at gross weight.
  5. Thanks Dan... I just ordered mine...
  6. We decided to extend our Tahoe trip one more day so I will not make it to SMX this Sunday. March 4th is open in my schedule.
  7. KPAO in a Mooney Eagle--- 2443 feet, power off the last 50 feet of altitude and 70-75 knots over the fence, 65-70 at flare full flaps depending on gross weight. My trim is usually all the way up with one or two people sitting in the front.
  8. I looked into C421's and found them to be more of a "business class" than "personal class" airplane. They require more money, more training time, and higher skill sets by the owner/pilot. I would go for simplicity of a single engine if any of the three factors (Money, time, and skill) is lacking.
  9. I start my descent abeam the numbers.. Long Body: Speed Brakes and gear on the 45, App flap before turning downwind @100 knots, full flap before turning base @ 90 Knots (cleared to land and no heavy winds) , turn base at runway under the wing tip and TD zone 45 deg behind), approach at 75 knots, decide if speed brake is needed... Land..
  10. OK... Let's do it.... It also has a parachute
  11. I look forward to joining you guys if the weather cooperates
  12. I assumed they came with an overhauled engine. If not, I agree...
  13. My engine has 1200 hours on it. Does it make sense to put a more expensive teflon type hose on it that is rated for 12 years plus? The regular hoses are rated for 7 years but are less expensive. I may have to overhaul it in 5-8 years and the hoses will be replace at overhaul.
  14. Thanks for the feedbacks. We are targeting to replace them in March.
  15. The oil and fuel lines in my 1999 Mooney Eagle need replacement according my mechanic and Continental Tech Support. I have the rec "C" lines which are rated for 7 years. He is recommending to go to rev "D" which is teflon and is rated for 12+ years. Anyone has done this on io550? if yes, any recommendation on where to get the hoses made for the best quality and price? Driver
  16. I have three Concorde RG24 since the cabin light was on Dim and we missed it so I bought a new battery and it was dead after a few days. The first dead battery was 5 years old and the second one was new. My third battery, still on the plane, was installed in 2009 and still running fine. I used the new battery minder charger for Concorde to recover the batteries and de-sulfate them. I have the 5 year old battery de-sulfated and ready to go if necessary and its rested voltage is in the 90-100% range.
  17. What CO detector do you use? I use the sporty one which is based on the color...
  18. This was the first KT74 install that was done by the shop that did the work
  19. My recollection is that the STC required a second switch or maybe the air speed switch signal logic (on/off) was different. The switch was cheap and quick to install.
  20. I installed a KT74 in July of 2015 to replace my KT76C.. No issues so far. The only added complexity was to add a air switch on my plane for sensing the air speed. My total cost was around $2500 after the rebate.
  21. +1 Here. It would be very difficult to top Bruce's quality and customer service. I had some issues with my cover and he replace the cover at no charge and very quickly even though it was not fully clear if his cover was at fault...
  22. +1 i usually speed up in ground effect and avoid steep climbs.
  23. My 1999 Eagle has a timer for the baggage compartment light. It was a standard unit that came with the plane. I have used it once in the past five years... I like my iPhone flashlight better
