mooniac58 Posted December 13, 2008 Report Posted December 13, 2008 I just wrapped up installing a new Hartzell two blade "top prop" on my 1987 M20J yesterday while we were having a big storm here in Hawaii. I woke up today to skies clearer than I have seen in years and we went up for a test flight this afternoon. It did seem to pick up around 2-3 knots at cruise and was noticably quieter. Then we went up north to a rarely used field Upolu Airport and put some VERY LARGE grins on our faces by making high speed passes over the runway. I don't think I have ever had so much fun in my Mooney. Coming over the field at 50 feet at 175KTS is amazing! Then the near vertical climbout afterward is exhilirating! We took turns on the camera and got some good pics which I threw in my gallery: http://www.mooneyspace.com/index.cfm?action=gallery&userGallery=3 Quote
