m20kmooney Posted December 18, 2012 Report Posted December 18, 2012 Does anyone have a source for interior side panels? I know of plane plastics but looking for the radiused ones. Quote
M20F-1968 Posted December 18, 2012 Report Posted December 18, 2012 I have a pair of panels from an Ovation that can be altered to fit into other air frames. They are the panels that make most of the roof and have the pillars that go around the windows. I had a second set which I altered to fit into my F model. They can be the start of a very nice interior. They are fiberglass and easily remodeled. You can call me at (617) 877-0025 or e-mail me at johnabreda@yahoo.com Thanks, John Breda Quote
m20kmooney Posted December 18, 2012 Author Report Posted December 18, 2012 Could you please post some pics? When you say altered to fit what do you mean? How much and where? Is it cutting around the edges or more substantial. Quote
M20F-1968 Posted December 18, 2012 Report Posted December 18, 2012 Here are pictures of the parts. The first and third pictures show the parts covered in Eurostretch cloth. The middle picture shows the left hand panel which is available in the background, and a similar panel which I have altered to fit my aircraft in the foreground. You can cut and paste fiberglass parts so the contours are where you want them. You can also easily lay-up fiberglass and and to make the shape you want. I can get some better pictures of the next 2-3 days. John Breda Quote
Steve Dawson Posted December 18, 2012 Report Posted December 18, 2012 Hi John, I'm just in the minst of redoing my interior shortly. How hard was covering the panels with the Eurostretch material considering your skill set? I was told by Airtex it was difficult. 1 Quote
M20F-1968 Posted December 31, 2012 Report Posted December 31, 2012 It really is not difficult. You need to be clean and careful. Spraying on the glue is preferred. I used the same glue used by the factory. I do not have the name just now but can find it. John Quote
