funvee Posted September 15, 2012 Report Posted September 15, 2012 Sorry if this is a stupid question but what fuel senders are used on a 67 F? Guages aren't working so I want to look up pricing etc but can't find the model numbers. Also looking for a diagram showing the fuel sender system. Thanks! Shawn Quote
Lood Posted September 15, 2012 Report Posted September 15, 2012 According to what I have the part numbers are: "Transmitter, Fuel QTY, Inboard:" 610168-001 or 610242-001 "Transmitter, Fuel QTY, Outboard:" 610177-001 "Transmitter, Outboard, LH:" 610243-001 "Transmitter, Outboard, RH:" 610243-003 1 Quote
jezzie Posted September 15, 2012 Report Posted September 15, 2012 I just went through the same thing with my J model, only with the left tank. I did check with the Mooney factory and they did have the Left tank senders in stock, didn't check on RH cause I did not need them. I would contact MAC they have been real good getting parts out the same day, excellent service 1 Quote
funvee Posted September 15, 2012 Author Report Posted September 15, 2012 Thanks, I'll look up those numbers... So far the pricing I am seeing is about $350 for inboard and $320 for outboard. Does that sound right? Does anyone know how they are wired... What the A&P is seeing is the fuel gauge is reading 1/2 full even when the tank is empty. That made me think that one sender stuck in full up and the other working fine would leave it thinking it had 1/2 tank but I can't find any info on how they are wired up. Thanks for the help! Lood Posted September 16, 2012 Report Posted September 16, 2012 PM me your e-mail address and I can send you the wiring diagram. Maybe it could be of help. I can't manage to upload the .PDF here, unfortunately. 1 Quote
funvee Posted September 16, 2012 Author Report Posted September 16, 2012 Thanks Lood, I'll do that right away. Here is the only diagram I could find in the parts manual but I don't know where exactly they are saying the 2 senders per side are located. http://mooneyspace.com/gallery/image/33127-screen-shot-2012-09-16-at-112703-am/ Quote
funvee Posted September 16, 2012 Author Report Posted September 16, 2012 We're getting close.... Thanks to Lood we have the wiring for C/E but with the F having 2 sensors per side, I need to know how it gets wired from the inboard one to the second one and if anyone has pictures of where the two are located that would be cool too! Thanks http://mooneyspace.com/gallery/image/33128-screen-shot-2012-09-16-at-125526-pm/ Quote
funvee Posted September 16, 2012 Author Report Posted September 16, 2012 Lood found the wiring needed! So they get their ground from the outboard one only.... Interesting. Now, does anyone have pictures showing where they are physically located? Thanks!! http://mooneyspace.com/gallery/image/33131-fuel-transmitter-wiring-m20f/ Quote
funvee Posted September 17, 2012 Author Report Posted September 17, 2012 Just to finish off this thread incase anyone else needs it in the future... Lood also found the diagram showing the transmitter locations for the F. (His Parts Manual has stuff that mine is without) Thanks Lood!! http://mooneyspace.com/gallery/image/33133-fuel-transmitter-locations/ Quote
N201MKTurbo Posted September 25, 2012 Report Posted September 25, 2012 The inboard sensor needs to be electrically isolated from the airframe, this requires that all the screws have insulated shoulder washers ( I have a bunch). If the inboard sensor is shorted to the airframe you will get the 1/2 full indication. Quote
daps Posted September 25, 2012 Report Posted September 25, 2012 You may have just solved an issue I have been dealing with since having my tanks resealed! Left tank won't read past one half. The only screw on the inner transmitter that has the shoulder washer is the one with the wire from the outer transmitter attached to it. Please pm me if I can buy some washers from you. Thanks! Quote
funvee Posted October 5, 2012 Author Report Posted October 5, 2012 Thanks everyone, we have them working now after taking them out and cleaning the inboard ones and replacing the gaskets. Quote
