Oscar Avalle Posted September 11, 2012 Report Posted September 11, 2012 I just got a new video camera (contour) and I put together this short video... I know, I need to work on my editing and the brakes of the airplane locked when I touched down... but I still wanted to share this with our community. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ogWwhdCDaQA&feature=channel&list=UL Quote
aerobat95 Posted September 12, 2012 Report Posted September 12, 2012 That is sweet. How did you mount it? Can you take some pictures of that?? What kinda camera is it? Quote
PilotDerek Posted September 12, 2012 Report Posted September 12, 2012 That is awesome! Very unique view. Quote
scottfromiowa Posted September 12, 2012 Report Posted September 12, 2012 Were you aiming for the numbers? Just kidding. Cool video. Thanks for sharing Quote
Oscar Avalle Posted September 12, 2012 Author Report Posted September 12, 2012 I was aiming at 19 and landed on 01... Seriously, I am getting used to a higher altitude airport and i just did not get the speeds on final right... BTW the tower even made a joke out of it... Quote
carusoam Posted September 12, 2012 Report Posted September 12, 2012 That looked good to me! I was banking in my chair along with the plane... Thanks for sharing! -a- Quote

Nice to have a long runway to learn. Over numbers at 3:28 & Mains touch at 3:57...nearly 30 seconds of float...which our Mooney's LOVE to do with to much speed. Way to "let it happen" and NOT force it. Have fun Oscar, Scott Quote
Joe Zuffoletto Posted September 12, 2012 Report Posted September 12, 2012 Oscar, Very cool. I have a Contour and have made videos from inside my Mooney. I'd love to do one from the outside. How did you attach the camera to the aircraft? Quote
Oscar Avalle Posted September 12, 2012 Author Report Posted September 12, 2012 I used a RAM suction cup. I will go to the airport on Saturday and take some pictures and post them. Unfortunately I have to work... and can't go before...:=( Quote

Hank Posted September 14, 2012 Report Posted September 14, 2012 Oscar-- Beautiful scenery! Nice flying, too. I'm not sure if your brakes were locked or not. May you, your family and friends manage the Fuego eruption with minimal disruption and loss. Hopefully it's not too close to your homes. Quote

Thanks God the erruption stopped today... yesterday it was looking really bad. 10,000 people had to be evacuated...but today the volcano just looks nice and quiet. And yes, I did block the brakes. I had them readjusted and I just did not notice it... Quote
Oscar Avalle Posted September 15, 2012 Author Report Posted September 15, 2012 Some asked me for a picture of the attached camera...here it goes... Quote
funvee Posted September 16, 2012 Report Posted September 16, 2012 Nice!! I love the perspective that gives. Quote
