ighazali Posted October 24, 2025 Report Posted October 24, 2025 I am looking for headrests for my Mooney M20E, any ideas where I can buy them or would I need a seat replacement? Also the overhead Map light that has low and high setting, can someone link a LED replacement for it, looking to get a red plug and play version if possible. This is the light that is located behind right seat at the top. Any ideas on where to get a good yoke cover, I have not had any luck finding one. Thank you!
TaildraggerPilot Posted October 25, 2025 Report Posted October 25, 2025 Feel around the tops of those seats. I bet you will feel the tubes to insert headrest posts into. Finding actual Mooney headrests might be tough. Self-Fabrication is probably a better route. Oh, and btw, Mooney used at least two different sized tubes over the years (of course). Talk to Hector at AeroComfort in TX about yoke covers. You can swap out the map light lamp for a red LED one, but you’ll lose the “high / low” ability. I’m thinking this is for a night flying panel flood and it will do that job brilliantly. I have two above my head and they just turn on and off with no dimming. I can look for a part number when I’m at the hangar tomorrow. CB ’67 E 1
Rwsavory Posted October 25, 2025 Report Posted October 25, 2025 If you find the tubes to insert headrests this is an option worth exploring: https://www.csobeech.com/headrests.html

Dimmable LED’s that fit the torpedo lights (even better than what I have) https://www.aero-lites.com/product-page/ge-89-led-replacement-12vdc-dimmable Select the 12V version to be able to use your existing aircraft dimmer. 2
Jsno Posted November 6, 2025 Report Posted November 6, 2025 Lamar has headrests. They run $508 each. Might be good to check salvage yards for them too. 1

I think others have used Toyota Corolla headrest; they fit in perfectly and since it's fully removable, you can use anything you want. 1
