toto Posted yesterday at 03:51 PM Report Posted yesterday at 03:51 PM Okay, this is pretty cool. https://flightaware.com/live/flight/N7132V/history/20251002/1530Z/KTCL/KTCL Saw the pilot post on Reddit, but thought this was more properly shared on MS Nicely done 3
N201MKTurbo Posted yesterday at 03:55 PM Report Posted yesterday at 03:55 PM And it was drawn by a Mooney! 2

Ragsf15e Posted yesterday at 05:05 PM Report Posted yesterday at 05:05 PM Holy smokes! Excellent art! 4:30 hours! That took some serious effort!
Marc_B Posted yesterday at 05:33 PM Report Posted yesterday at 05:33 PM I wonder what this looks like in the cockpit…gps coordinates for waypoints? Set up with ForeFlight and pushed to panel? How many waypoints? Pretty cool!

I was kind of hoping the pilot was on MS and could give us a behind-the-scenes view Seems like it would take a lot of work. Here’s the original Reddit post fwiw https://www.reddit.com/r/flying/s/NlwCamvh3k ETA: There’s actually a lot of follow up discussion since I first saw the post earlier today, and the OP gave some details on the process.
Marc_B Posted yesterday at 06:25 PM Report Posted yesterday at 06:25 PM Interesting. Sounds like just used google earth to trace a picture and make a KML file that was uploaded to ForeFlight. Then just hand flew the track shown on ForeFlight.
Hank Posted yesterday at 06:46 PM Report Posted yesterday at 06:46 PM @0TreeLemur, was this you, Fred??? Either way, it's impressive!

Sorry to be the 'wet blanket' but I just don't see how there is much skill involved; hell, just let the AP fly it if you go to the work to load the waypoints into your panel GPS.
N201MKTurbo Posted 18 hours ago Report Posted 18 hours ago You can just draw lines on ForeFlight map. They stay with the map till you erase them and zoom with the map. After you draw the picture you like, you just follow the lines. I bet if you put in a feature request to turn the lines into waypoints for drawing pictures in the sky, they may do it. Sometimes you just want to waste some avgas boring holes in the sky, might as well make a picture. 1

It's not about skill, it's about having a little fun. 1

Well, show us how easy it is. 1
Bob E Posted 3 hours ago Report Posted 3 hours ago Being a Buckeye, when I was breaking in my new engine I decided, why not do it with a little style? SCRIPT OHIO: 3
