Danb Posted July 17 Report Posted July 17 With AirVenture fast approaching curious on what weather programs your utilizing to make your go/no decisions. Quote
N201MKTurbo Posted July 17 Report Posted July 17 I just flew coast to coast (almost) and just used FF. I did look at Windy leading up to it. This time of year, it is never go/no go, you just have to pad your trip and be prepared to wait a few hours or more for the weather to pass. 2 Quote
M20F Posted July 18 Report Posted July 18 I have used a weather forecasting stone for years. When I travel, I use the pebble version. Works great. Quote

Jackk Posted July 19 Report Posted July 19 Foreflight, I also make sure to hit the “brief” button under flights to make sure it’s recorded I got a brief I like windy.. lots of great overlays and WEB CAMS! I will never use this to override a official weather product like foreflight for a go decision, but I will use it for over all awareness and will use it (like a MOS vs TAF) for a no-go decision 1 Quote
N201MKTurbo Posted July 20 Report Posted July 20 I always watch the forecasts for a couple of weeks before a long cross country. I follow the forecast trend to see if the forecast is getting better or worse on the day of departure. If the forecast is improving as it gets closer, life is good. If the forecast gets worse, watch out. 1 Quote
