Bigdaddie Posted February 6 Report Posted February 6 Completed an avionics upgrade on my M20K last summer. I recently flew at night and discovered the Trim and Flap position indicators were not lit. Should there be a backlight in there somewhere? Quote
Marc_B Posted February 6 Report Posted February 6 @Bigdaddie You have two rotary knobs that control glareshield and panel lights. Do these work? Sometimes it’s a faulty rheostat, other times it’s a blown fuse. But I believe you should have a backlight that’s tied to the Panel Light rotary knob. Quote
Bigdaddie Posted February 6 Author Report Posted February 6 Yea I guess they work. There's not much lighting any more with the EFIS. Glarsheild lights work. But I just thought of something. The light in the oxygen guage does not work and is on my list of squawks. I bet it is the same circuit. Quote
jlunseth Posted February 6 Report Posted February 6 Mine work. Had to get a new bulb installed a few years ago, that did it. Not simple I don't think, the center console cover has to come off. I did it during some other electronics work that was going to require the cover to come off anyway. I don't think there is a light for the O2 gauge, if yours is in the left armrest like mine. If there is, mine has never worked. Quote
Marc_B Posted February 6 Report Posted February 6 Strange. I could have sworn my oxygen gauge does have a light. I’ll have to check. Edit: looks like IPC shows effectivity for all 25-0001 and on with possibly a light? Quote
Bigdaddie Posted February 6 Author Report Posted February 6 Maybe my O2 guage doesn't have a light??????? Quote
shawnd Posted February 6 Report Posted February 6 In the M20K there is a small bulb above the O2 gauge inside the pilot side interior panel. That's 35 above in the IPC. 36 is the cutout if I am not mistaken. Quote
