Wow.  Just bought the aircraft from the previous owner.  Roughly 100 mile flight?  Wonder what the condition was when he flew it?  Ferry flight?

Glad for the successful off-field landing, but feel bad for the new owner.

I suspect that the farmer feels bad too…for his field.  I wonder what he will charge to allow trucks to drive in and destroy his crops.

What a bummer, not many of those wood wings still flying. Im glad pilot is ok.  Wonder how he managed the gear.  Up would be the way go for that kind of field.

Hopefully he’ll be thankful enough that his field allowed to pilot to walk away will be enough. Farmers are some of the most kind and thoughtful people around.

Insurance typically covers crop damage.    That's essentially what liability is for.

I'm surprised it stopped in about a wingspan ~50ft. It's corn stalks, not trees after all.

You ever walked through a mature corn field?   That's not a surprise at all.    ;)
