Nikolai Posted July 10, 2024 Report Posted July 10, 2024 recently the statics in my COM1 in Garmin 430W gets really bad. COM2 is working just fine, thus I believe the problem is localized in Garmin unit. Any recommendations for shop, competent to diagnose the radio, in Tucson Area? Any suggestion what to check? Thank you Quote
N201MKTurbo Posted July 10, 2024 Report Posted July 10, 2024 You could go see Troy at AVQ. But first I would swap the two radios and see if the problem follows the radio. Just R&R ing them may fix it. Quote

Thank you There are a couple of other items between the radio and the world of electromagnetic radiation and reception. I would suggest some troubleshooting before assuming it's the radio. 1 Quote
Nikolai Posted July 11, 2024 Author Report Posted July 11, 2024 I do understand thing or two about Radio and Electronics in general, but not in the airplane, unfortunately. Also I do not (yet) have a hangar to work on it, that's why I am asking for help. N201MKTurbo, could you help with contacts of Troy, please? Quote

I have his cell, but I usually don’t give out other peoples cell unless it’s approved, but just call Tucson Air Center. They know who he is and they will fix you up. https://www.tucsonaero.com/avionics/ Quote
