M20J Baggage door Hold Open Arm Assy 350154-901

Our hold open arm assembly cracked off our M20J last week.  I searched for the newest thread on this topic and it is back in 2018 with links that don't work.  Lasar says 6 weeks for them to get one on special order.  Kenny Faeth doesn't have a used one in stock.  Any other cheaper/faster alternatives available?

I think a lot of people have had them weld repaired.

When I had trouble with mine, I removed it for a few weeks to repair it.  Just watch your head while accessing the baggage area, while waiting for repair or replacement.

Ours is welded right where yours broke.  I’d take it off, make sure your IA approves, and then take it to a local welder.

dumb question: how do you get the arm off, especially where attached to the door frame?

@exM20K Check out your IPC something like 52-30-00. I believe both are clevis pins with washers and a cotter pins. You have to take off the interior panel cover on the door and it’s obvious. I haven’t taken off the frame side before, but I believe it’s similar.

There is another thread where gas struts replace the metal sleeve stock unit.  This looks like a good option.  Or I could sell you mine when I replace it with the gas strut I ordered.  The detent isn't as strong as I'd like to hold the door open.
