Just send yours off for repair. They will most likely replace all the metal and return it to you.

Mine wore through at the elbow. No one would repair it. It was just over $400 new back in 07. I’d bet they’re near $1000 now.

Huh, the repair guys are not as bold as they once were.

Indeed not. It was corroding from the inside out.  Nevertheless, a new tube could have been welded to the “ball” but the shop said no one would touch it. I was naive then and rarely questioned what I was told…until I got the bill. They tried to charge 4hrs of shop time to hang that pipe.

That may work but they wanted ~$450 and may still need to go to the shop.  A new one is looking like best bet.  I was told mine was too far gone.

Corrosion?

$450 for a used, cosmetically damaged tai pipe is ridiculous when brand new ones can be had for <$800.  Whoever is setting their pricing is clearly not concerned with converting inventory to cash.

PM me please.  I have a tailpipe from my former Mooney IO-360 A1A.  This might help you.  I'd attache a photo, but MS says I can't!  ;) I'll email a photo of it to you once I learn your address.

Whoops…. I’m incorrect.   The tailpipe is off an O-360, not an IO-360.  Sorry I couldn’t help you.

When the tail pipe of our 1974 M20E got corroded, I ordered a replacement at https://awi-ami.com/

I went back and forth with Tim over at AWI and he was super helpful to make sure I was ordering the right item: A630056-501

Since then I used them again for one of the exhaust riser that had a crack and can confirm, great company.

Hope this helps

Made an order to Aerospace Welding Minneapolis with the same part number you listed.  They had 4 in stock.  I noticed Airplane Exhaust had the same part for $425, $300 less but none in stock otherwise I would of tried theirs.
