Leaking fuel uptake gasket screws

Hello all, 

 

Two of the four screws on the inboard right fuel uptake gasket are leaking. I just replaced the gasket because it was leaking itself and not sealing the fuel in the tank. My understanding is 20-25ft lbs for these screws. I have tightened the screws as much as I feel comfortable. 
 

Does anybody know of a solution to resolve this leak? 
 

I’m losing about 3-4 gallons a week in my right tank :-(

I’m not totally convinced this is where I’m losing this much fuel but after a thorough assessment I can’t find evidence of a leak anywhere else.

I hope you meant 20-25 INCH- pounds.

Remove the screws and put some Permatex 2 or 3 on the treads. Let it get tacky and replace the screws. It’s best to do this with the tank dry and let it set 24 hrs before filling the tank. I just had to do this on an outboard fuel sender.

If you coat both sides of the gasket with tank sealant and coat the flange and airframe with tank sealant, it won’t leak. And you can remove it later. 
 

If you are losing that much fuel, it is leaking somewhere else. If it were leaking that much there the fuel smell would be overwhelming.
