But the hijacker died.

I bought this plane three weeks ago in Texas and flew it back to Maine. I knew it had mice in it because they became evident during the pre-by and annual done in Texas. The shop did their best to remove the mouse nest and any associated debris. Apparently, they missed one. I’m glad he didn’t fall out of the overhead eyeball vent while my wife was sitting in the right seat!

You didn't say exactly where in Texas you had the pre-buy done, but you might want to take it to someone else who knows the Mooney very well for a corrosion inspection (I think Joey Cole is on the East coast somewhere).  Too late to call it a second opinion "pre-buy", but better to find out sooner rather than later if you have corrosion in any of the difficult-to-access places.  Mice apparently don't have a functional urinary tract sphincter, so they dribble highly-corrosive urine constantly.  If anything was accidently missed by the person in Texas, you could have damage that you don't yet realize.

I had the prebuy done at a VERY reputable Mooney specific shop in Texas.  They did a thorough prebuy and annual, with specific attention to the mice issue. They removed a large nest and debris. They found no corrosion, fortunately. I would not have completed the sale if any was found. The little guy in the eyeball vent must have been in the fresh air duct inside the headliner. The last man standing! Their shop is SWTA. I’ve flown and brokered aircraft for almost 50 years. I’ve met hundreds of mechanics. Owners JD and his wife Laura (also an A+P) are second to none. They are Mooney experts and honest as the day is long.

It’s too bad that immediately this amusing post was hijacked by people who unfortunately have the need to make their concerns your concerns with absolutely no background history, context, or information.

This has me wondering if anyone has ever had a live mouse make itself seen during flight. I've had it happen in a tractor before and that almost ended in disaster... I can't imagine it happening in flight.
