warrenehc Posted August 17, 2021 Report Posted August 17, 2021 (edited) Hello, My bellow on my vacuum step just failed. I believe I can send into brittian and get replaced and put back on the system. Other options would be to go electric. I have duel G5’s and my understanding is that I could remove my vacuum system completely if I so choose.?.? My AP is a STEC 60 Is this correct? If so I would remove lol vacuum system and then just install the electric step. Thanks for the help in advance Edited August 17, 2021 by warrenehc
hammdo Posted August 17, 2021 Report Posted August 17, 2021 No AP in mine yet (will have dual G5s) but, I'm removing all vacuum setup/backup vacuum and my working vacuum step and putting in the electric step. '66 C... -Don
S.C. Posted August 17, 2021 Report Posted August 17, 2021 I’ve been looking to do something similar. I found this site but won’t be able to get it installed for a few months. http://flightenhancements.com/index.html

It is an easy install and works great, I highly recommend it if the bellows fails or you are looking to get rid of your vacuum system. 1
Don.Tulsa Posted September 2, 2021 Report Posted September 2, 2021 I install one a few months ago, very happy with it. I was charged 5 labor for the install, which i thought was high, please post your labor cost once completed.
Andy95W Posted September 2, 2021 Report Posted September 2, 2021 5 hours actually sounds pretty reasonable to me. Removal and installation of the interior alone can take anywhere from 2-4 hours depending on how old it is. Running wires, removal/installation of the step mechanisms, and paperwork take up the rest of the time. Next time, negotiate with your shop so you remove and install the interior. Perfectly legal, they will appreciate it, and you’ll get a nice break on the price.
hammdo Posted September 2, 2021 Report Posted September 2, 2021 Run the wire up the no longer needed vacuum hose and you won't need to remove the interior... BTW, you may need a line filter - mine bleeds into the #1 com so we're adding one... -Don 1
