DXB Posted March 17, 2021 Report Posted March 17, 2021 Mr. Badlands Justice Rush McNally got busted smuggling meth and guns in his C model today. Aviation is an expensive hobby, so who am I to judge . And he did showcase the C model as a viable choice for one's fledgling smuggling operation - economy, useful load, speed, range, and decent short field performance. Admittedly, it's not ideal for unimproved grass strips in the jungle, and the cabin dimensions may make it challenging to carry long guns. https://www.fox23.com/news/local/pilot-arrested-jenks-airport-after-authorities-find-more-than-100-pounds-meth-multiple-guns-plane/YW2EVLIVFZH37ILD3KXUBCXS2U/ More pix of plane here: https://www.instagram.com/mooney_pit/ Hopefully they sell it fast rather than letting it rot in an impound lot. 2 Quote
Old Chub Posted March 17, 2021 Report Posted March 17, 2021 I would not hold out any hopes for a quick public auction or sale. The company I work for has a facility at Fort Lauderdale executive that has had a king air 200 series still nearby against the perimeter fence for a couple of years now. A real shame and a once real nice airplane going to waste in the Florida elements. It is a seized DEA asset as I suspect this aircraft will be also. 1 Quote
carusoam Posted March 17, 2021 Report Posted March 17, 2021 Wait a minute... We know somebody with the skills of winning one of those auctions... so far... so good! In another thread there is a discussion of trying to make money illegally/unethically... essentially, no room for mistakes... this story is going to grow... Best regards, -a- 1 Quote
