bmcconnaha Posted December 27, 2020 Report Posted December 27, 2020 Can anyone share photos of their knisley exhaust installed on a J? I’m curious if the tailpipe appearance is similar to stock. I’m torn between the knisley system and the power flow system for my 390 we are installing soon. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Quote
carusoam Posted December 27, 2020 Report Posted December 27, 2020 Not too many exhaust pictures around... Often there is a discussion regarding how long the tail pipes are for the PowerFlow exhaust... and what angle they came out... and what version was the most aerodynamic for Mooneys... A brief search, not too many details to sift through.... Best regards, -a- https://mooneyspace.com/search/?q=Knisely&quick=1 1 Quote

I don't need a.suoer close up photo, just an image or two from the side so I can see what the appearance is compared to stock. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk 1 Quote
Tx_Aggie Posted December 31, 2020 Report Posted December 31, 2020 The io-390 is supposed to be 10 more hp, correct? Is this the same engine on the SR20? It will be interesting if you see any noticeable performance gains or not. Quote

One of my wants for this overhaul was to eliminate the single drive mag. So, priced out both ways, the IO390 was less than the split mag 360 from lycoming. It did require a prop change, but I was planning that anyways no matter what way I went. I’m pretty consistently seeing 162KTAS. With the prop/engine and a good rig job I’m hoping to see higher 160s.
