Candy man Posted September 24, 2020 Report Posted September 24, 2020 Well not only have I turned 50 and then some. Well so has my 1970 m20c and many of its components. This is the top of the instrument panel. Do I have it recovered? buy new? Send it out? Find a local vinyl guy? I’m in Columbus Ohio. Any and all advice accepted. Lawrence
ArtVandelay Posted September 24, 2020 Report Posted September 24, 2020 Have it re-covered in ultra leather.
carusoam Posted September 24, 2020 Report Posted September 24, 2020 The leather shop in TX has done a few around here... Find Aero Comfort in San Antonio... Ask for Hector... If your Mooney is a forever plane, this will make sense... Best regards, -a-
PJClark Posted September 24, 2020 Report Posted September 24, 2020 Send it to AeroComfort it comes back like this 2

Prob not...it was the only easily accessible photo of the stitching detail I could find. But...you never know until you ask Hector! 1

PJClark Posted September 24, 2020 Report Posted September 24, 2020 Gone. Actually I'm pretty sure they were never there. Heres a pic from my pre buy flights...I don't see 'em but I may not know where to look?
carusoam Posted September 24, 2020 Report Posted September 24, 2020 PJC, You gave up external lighting for your color screens? How dare you! Isn’t that what the anti-glare screens are for? PP attempt at humor only, not a comedian... Best regards, -a- 1
kmyfm20s Posted September 26, 2020 Report Posted September 26, 2020 (edited) With my previous 182 I did an inexpensive and functional method of recovering it myself. Peel off or repair the cracked vinyl and cover with black felt. Use the high temp 3M 90 spray on cement. It’s really easy, looks good and you get no glare. It does not look nearly as finished as AreoComfort product as shown above. Edited September 26, 2020 by kmyfm20s
