Earth is round... check

New planes are expensive... check

M20J is not coming back anytime soon... check

I'm on board with you guys but, have you seen the fuel burn rate or landing distance on a PT 6?

I guess there is a TBMSpace.com for all things mooneyturbine.

Let's celebrate: Here's to the factory hiring back skilled labor, one at a time!!!

Best regards,

For about the same cost to manufacture a J, they can build an Ovation.  They can't cover costs at 300K, and there is no market for a 500K J.  This topic has been beaten to death.  The sun rises in the east. Gravity is a reality. The earth is round.   And there is no markert for 500K$ Mooney M20J.

Well, given ISA + 10 conditions, at 2000' and 5500lb,   a TBM-700 can clear a 50' obstacle with a total distance of 1,870 feet.    55 gallons an hour at near 300 TAS, can fly at 30,000 ft,  and lands with a 1,300' ground roll.      Absolutely incredible.

OK let's assume for argument's sake that the earth is indeed round.

Why are runways flat? And why are all our charts and plates flat?

And if we go out on a limb to further assume that it rotates around the sun then why are our times enroute the same to and from?

Having first hand experience with phone call questions coming into the factory, most of which that will never generate any revenue, from people who make lots of calls to many sources on the same issue...if I were them I'd charge a fee for every advise call.

Mooney is, or was, in the business of selling planes, not answering phone questions from the world.

I would like to apologize to co2bruce. Sometimes an email can slip thru the cracks. Frank and I answer 100 plus emails a day. Please email sellis@mooney.com and I will provide the info you are needing. I'm not at my desk all day. I spend a lot of the day in the backshops. We have brought an employee back to manufacture parts and on some parts he needs assistance. For example I spent yesterday with him pulling wing skins for customers needing skins. We can also supply all welded parts, machined parts, and composite parts such as belly panels, wing tips, etc. We are doing our very best to support our customers with the limited amount of staff. Depending on the amount of research one email may require it may take a couple of days to get an answer. We appreciate all of our customers patience and will continue to support our customers.

Welcome Stacey! Don't be such a stranger. So... you know, coming to places like this on a regular basis would go a long way towards dispelling the now popular "wisdom" in the GA community that the MAC is dead and Mooneys are now really hard to get parts for. Obsessed Mooniacs like us are your new PR department.

Stacey, I received the information I needed. I too want to wish you guys the best at MAC. I would not fly anything else. I'm sorry if I stired up trouble for anyone. Was just looking for a definitive answer relating to safely operating my airccraft.
