One of the prints listed the pn (or equivalent). Spruce has it. MS25089-1CR. Thinking back, the pn on the print might have had a typo. Main thing I gathered, it has to have a red button. Quote
65MooneyPilot Posted Monday at 03:13 AM Report Posted Monday at 03:13 AM I am actually more interested in how the install manual says to install it on the yoke. With some kind of bracket that you manufacture yourself or what. Quote
hammdo Posted Monday at 03:16 AM Author Report Posted Monday at 03:16 AM I have a yoke clock and a bracket in mind. I ran a PTT to where the PC button was but not sure if there is more room for a wire. -Don Quote
65MooneyPilot Posted Monday at 03:22 AM Report Posted Monday at 03:22 AM I saw a picture of that this morning and that looks like a good solution. Quote

hammdo Posted Monday at 11:30 PM Author Report Posted Monday at 11:30 PM Got BAD NEWs today -- cam is spalled -- not sure what happened but that sure didn't enter into the equation! Now, while I have some funds saved, I now need to go the OH route -- totally sucks but what can one do? -Don Quote

hammdo Posted Tuesday at 11:12 PM Author Report Posted Tuesday at 11:12 PM After long discussions with the shop and a very good friend who is an AP/IA, I’m going to do cam, DLC lifters, all new Superior cylinders, new mechanical fuel pump, and IRAN the engine (OH gasket kit). I was very lucky all parts were in stock and should be here in a few days. Shop is in progress with the removal etc. All accessories were already overhauled or replace within the last 200+ hours (mag, SureFly, exhaust), Prop/Governor IRAN/reseal 200 hrs ago. Alternator’s oh 200 hrs ago so not a lot left there. Fine wire plugs with 250 hrs, new harnesses when mags/SureFly done… won’t have to wait long since the shop is on it… -Don 4 Quote
hammdo Posted Wednesday at 05:36 PM Author Report Posted Wednesday at 05:36 PM Thankfully everything was in stock and shipped today. Cam and DLC lifters should make this a more reliable engine… new cylinders will be awesome… -Don 1 Quote
hammdo Posted Wednesday at 06:02 PM Author Report Posted Wednesday at 06:02 PM Oil cooler was new (installed in 2016 I think) with new hoses so getting those flushed. New alternator belt too. I think the important items will be covered…. -Don Quote
hammdo Posted yesterday at 05:26 AM Author Report Posted yesterday at 05:26 AM Interesting quote from Aviation Consumers on Superior’s cam: "Presently, there are three aftermarket camshaft providers: Air Support International was the first company to develop and certify an aftermarket camshaft, followed closely by Engine Components Inc. and Superior Air Parts." "If the cam wont grind and needs to be replaced, there are three aftermarket manufacturers to choose from, plus Lycoming and Continental. For some engines, an OEM cam will be the only choice because it isn’t provided by the aftermarket. Otherwise, of all the cams weve seen, were inclined to favor the Thielert-built Superior products, simply because we've seen how obsessive this company is about manufacturing quality control." https://www.aviationconsumer.com/aircraftreviews/engines/the-camshaft-coin-flip/ -Don Quote
