larrynimmo Posted April 5, 2020 Report Posted April 5, 2020 Just curious....how many of my good friends are willing to plop down $4,500 for an hour charter? Not sure, but I think the ad company has picked the wrong blog site to advertise... Quote
toto Posted April 5, 2020 Report Posted April 5, 2020 Best guess is that this is served from an ad network, not an individual MS sponsor. They might be targeting 'aviation' or whatever. Quote
Nick Pilotte Posted April 5, 2020 Report Posted April 5, 2020 Not only am I getting the jet rental ad, I’m getting curvy girl lingerie ads..... when my wife looks over at me on the iPad, that’s hard to explain. I’m not googling anything like that and she’s not “curvy” like that. Quote

carusoam Posted April 5, 2020 Report Posted April 5, 2020 Keep in mind how ‘smart’ advertising works on the internet... Your device is tracking things you look at and type... Then it does it’s best guess about what you want to see next... Then it looks up who has paid for an ad... they are looking for your eyeballs... You have become the willing partner of internet advertisement... There are a few complaints every now and then... Where somebody got the curvy bodies of the wrong sex... it is really challenging to turn off cookies all the time, or use caution when clicking on things... Use extra caution to not click on things accidentally... We always have the option.... to pay the entry price to not see ads at all. See the donate button below. Same thing with all internet ads on free apps... don’t be in a rush to show your wife the strange selection of ads you are getting... they may have gotten served up for you specifically by the advertising bots... guessing what you want to see... look at a rented jet once... just to see the price... you will be getting some expensive rental ads for a while... PP thoughts only... I clicked the donate button. I got tired of seeing the same Mooney Ultra ad... Best regards, -a- Quote
larrynimmo Posted April 5, 2020 Author Report Posted April 5, 2020 I could live with some sexy lingerie ads...they are at least affordable...private jets...not so much 1 Quote

tigers2007 Posted April 8, 2020 Report Posted April 8, 2020 The steel firm I once worked for would from time to time charter jets. The belief was that our execs and field sales crew could add substantial value to the firm in a short period of time. This was a small company too.If a sales team could fly direct to meet with a few firms in a regional area and it cost $20k to turn $5M in sales I think the travel expense could be justified. All in a days work and everyone sleeps in their own bed that night. 1 Quote

What do you think the guy that is taking most of his discretionary income to rent a 172 a few time a month thinks about the guy that has sole ownership of a 10 year old Acclaim? Quote
Mooneymite Posted April 19, 2020 Report Posted April 19, 2020 The world of private jets....! I fly for a "fractional" *. I can't and won't divulge any details, but I will say that it is a world I did not imagine existed. The idea that these people are all doing business and using jets to make money isn't the whole picture. People use their shares for all sorts of reasons. The one thing that jet fractional owners and Mooney owners share is that justifying cost versus utility is impossible. * https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fractional_ownership_of_aircraft 1 Quote

I agree, I just wonder how they got my name to include on such a list. And I will agree wholeheartedly with @Mooneymite about the uses of business jets; it's not just about making money. I am fortunate enough to work for a company who strongly believes in flying their own planes on business, and I know we also have used them to carry people who could not otherwise afford it, to their medical specialists. At the onset of this current situation, we sent two of our G-IV's to South America to pick up all of our people to evacuate them before they were stuck there for the duration. 1 Quote
