Vlakvark Posted March 10, 2020 Report Posted March 10, 2020 Good evening. Im trying to remove the side plastic window panel by the CB panel. I cant seem to move the CB panel much to get the side plastic panel out. Any suggestions. I am repainting the interior panels but running into some issues. JT Quote
carusoam Posted March 10, 2020 Report Posted March 10, 2020 JT got a pic? Or a tighter description of the plastic window panel? Best regards, -a- Quote
ArtVandelay Posted March 10, 2020 Report Posted March 10, 2020 The CB panel is secured by 2 screws on the outside of the fuselage. Quote
231MJ Posted March 11, 2020 Report Posted March 11, 2020 There's at least one cannon plug that also need to be removed. If you have prop deice there are more. Getting the CB panel to move any significant distance is not an easy task. Quote
Yetti Posted March 11, 2020 Report Posted March 11, 2020 Sometimes they are screwed to the panel next to it. Sometimes they are screwed to the cromolly tube running along the base of the panel. Pro tip is to replace those screws with allen head cap screws because it is a PITA to hold a screw driver upside down. And sometimes secured to the defroster panel. Quote
Vlakvark Posted March 11, 2020 Author Report Posted March 11, 2020 I like the allen head cap idea. Quote

PT20J Posted March 12, 2020 Report Posted March 12, 2020 According to the Service Manual for my J, the factory used rivets instead of the two right side fuselage screws on some later models. I don’t know if this applies to the K or not, but if you don’t have screws, you will have to drill out the two rivets. Skip Quote
