thinwing Posted December 18, 2018 Report Posted December 18, 2018 Very true..however sometimes an owner needs to be more proactive...locating parts can be frustrating ,but a call to Lazar should get the ball rolling.I can stuff sent from the uk to calif in a week...I also as owner ,would like to see photos of these corroded pushrods...since they are not exposed directly to the elements...is it just surface corrosion that can be cleaned up ,zinc cromated and structurally still airworthy.Sorry about your first annual...Maybe next time take it to another shop 1 Quote

Ultimately they sorted it but all this stuff takes time. Here are the photos of control rods: Quote
PT20J Posted December 18, 2018 Report Posted December 18, 2018 I’ve never received an 8130 from Mooney for any part so It’s probably a special request to get one. Lately Mooney lead time have been longer (for me anyway). I think they’re keeping inventory down and building a lot of parts to order. Zinc Chromate isn’t the best corrosion protection for steel. Mooney switched to epoxy primer at some point, which is much better. Your new parts should be epoxy primed. 1 Quote
Guest Posted December 18, 2018 Report Posted December 18, 2018 We get an 8130 with all parts received from Mooney. Sometimes there are shipping delay when the authorized signatory is away. Clarence Quote
