FloridaMan Posted May 28, 2018 Report Posted May 28, 2018 I have to go pick up an airplane this week. The radios all work, but the intercom supposedly has issues where communication between the pilot/copilot doesn’t work. You can hear each other when transmitting on the coms with the PTT pressed. The plane has this audio panel: if we turn the selector on the right to the INT position, does that mean PTT would work to communicate with each other and can be used to bypass the intercom? Quote
milotron Posted May 28, 2018 Report Posted May 28, 2018 I have that panel also but have never used the INT function on the MIC knob. That, I believe, would send mic input ( PTT ) to the passenger intercom only, if hooked up that way. Quote
Emmet Posted May 28, 2018 Report Posted May 28, 2018 I think this version of the KMA24 does not have an internal intercom. Quote
thinwing Posted May 28, 2018 Report Posted May 28, 2018 The it position directs mike to cabin speaker ...presumably for cabin class aircraft use Quote
carusoam Posted May 28, 2018 Report Posted May 28, 2018 Antares, We are experiencing something similar, yet opposite... The intercom is separate from the audio panel. pilot and copilot speak and hear each other perfectly... When my co-pilot is a CFI transmitting on the radio, his broadcast is unheard by me, sitting in the left seat... Could be one of us has the auto button pushed in, and the other has it pulled out? Haven’t thought to find a way to test this in eight years... Hope you find/share a solution... Best regards, -a- Quote
LANCECASPER Posted May 29, 2018 Report Posted May 29, 2018 The KMA24 does not have a built-in intercom. If there's an intercom in the airplane its another panel mounted unit. Do you have a picture of the instrument panel? Quote
