'm leaning towards having the beacon removed at annual, probably pick up 10 knots.

My understanding, having strobes at each corner of the plane makes the actual beacon unnecessary.

Yeah, but it annoys the people who are taxiing near you at night- just like the Cirrus guys without belly strobes.

The Cirrus guys annoy me for other reasons day and night.  ;-p

I did the Whelen wingtip LEDs with a logbook entry.  They are TSOd but no STC with the same form function etc.  My IA is a reasonable person.

I do have one.  Sitting in my hanger, in working condition.  I replaced it with the Red Baron LED light.  Just email me if jbgood dosn't have one.

I also have an old whelen belly strobe lying around if needed.
