kris_adams Posted October 13, 2017 Report Posted October 13, 2017 Hi, any chance someone has pics of the motor mounts in their 201? My mechanic replaced them and they still seem 90% fixed (just a slight sag at spinner-cowl. Also, does anyone have known good torque specs? They want to verify with the manual. Thanks! Kris Quote
N6758N Posted October 13, 2017 Report Posted October 13, 2017 There are usually shims there on the bottom mounts to get the engine to sit correctly, every installation is different though. 1 Quote
RLCarter Posted October 13, 2017 Report Posted October 13, 2017 The mounts on my E were installed wrong, so I replaced all 4, if memory serves they torque to 400~450 in lbs 1 Quote
kris_adams Posted October 13, 2017 Author Report Posted October 13, 2017 Thanks for the tips. Sounds like shims on the top motor mounts are only as required. 450” pounds matches what they read too. Just double checking. Thanks again! Quote
Guest Posted October 13, 2017 Report Posted October 13, 2017 Normally there a two shim washers(1per side) between the lower mounts and the engine. However the manual says to install the removed shims in the same location that they were removed from. Most airplanes have had the engine removed at least once, so knowing original location is a guess. The 7/16-20 bolts and nuts are torqued between 450-500 inch pounds. Clarence Quote
kris_adams Posted October 13, 2017 Author Report Posted October 13, 2017 So when my engine was put back on, they put one shim between the mount and the engine on both the lower and upper mounts. They removed the shims from the upper mounts and the engine is almost perfectly aligned. Thanks for the help!! Quote
