HRM Posted April 1, 2017 Report Posted April 1, 2017 This is a fastener off my empennage access panel and there is a small washer that holds it to the panel that has flown off somewhere. Any suggestions on how to replace the washer (like, what it's called), or do I need a whole new fastener? Quote
KSMooniac Posted April 1, 2017 Report Posted April 1, 2017 Look up Dzus fasteners. Not sure if you can buy a new clip or not.Sent from my LG-LS997 using Tapatalk 1 Quote
carusoam Posted April 1, 2017 Report Posted April 1, 2017 Consider Sending the same question over to Aircraft Spruce. Sometimes they respond positively. Expect somebody rebuilding their plane has the same need only 100 times more. Best regards, -a- Quote
jaylw314 Posted April 1, 2017 Report Posted April 1, 2017 It's hard to tell from your photo, but it looks like one of the camloc 2600 fasteners. They are retained with a split washer 2600SW2 you need to bend and straighten to get on http://www.aircraftspruce.com/catalog/hapages/camlocwashers.php Quote

Guest Posted April 1, 2017 Report Posted April 1, 2017 That's a Southco Fastener from the avionics hatch on the left side. the lock ring is a S1115-9 from Spruce. Clarence http://www.aircraftspruce.ca/catalog/hapages/04-00285.php?clickkey=3020031 Quote
HRM Posted April 1, 2017 Author Report Posted April 1, 2017 Ok, the PM says "82-32-101-17 RING, SPLIT", but these apparently are made of unobtainium. Spruce has a "#82 SOUTHCO retainer" which is a split ring (82-32-101-20) in SS. So I am guessing that the originals were not SS and the 17→20 in the P/N is just the same washer but now in stainless? I could not find the original P/N anywhere, but I frankly don't care what they are made of as long as they fit and keep the little bugger with the panel Quote
HRM Posted April 1, 2017 Author Report Posted April 1, 2017 OK, never mind...Mooneyspace is so therapeutic: SOUTHCO DZUS #82: Quote
