flyhigh603 Posted August 4, 2016 Report Posted August 4, 2016 Hey guys just had a little work done at my local shop and mech said i might have a leak in my left tank.Apparently there is a slight weep from where the rear spar goes thru tank.Does any one out there have practical hands on exp resealing a tank ?? And what is involved ? I am very mechanically inclined and don't mind tackling it but want to know from anyone who has done it what is the process and difficulty.......D Quote
slowflyin Posted August 4, 2016 Report Posted August 4, 2016 Tons on this site via search. That being said, http://www.donmaxwell.com/publications/MAPA_TEXT/_overlay/Fuel Tank Repair_How We Fix Them 2-05.htm 1 Quote
carusoam Posted August 4, 2016 Report Posted August 4, 2016 Somebody has recently done a very nice job of documenting every step they took to re-seal their tanks. Photos and everything. They covered solvents they used and things to be aware of. They also covered scrapers and the various sealants as well. The search function will find the thread. Getting that thread to stand out above all the others may be a challenge... Best regards, -a- 1 Quote

Don't forget those lines on your upper arm from bending it over a sharp piece of sheet metal. 1 Quote
