Randy:

We do not have anything like AirNav to serve Canadian Airports.  There is one facility, but it may not be updated very often.  It is the COPA (like AOPA only for Canada) "places to fly" website at: http://archive.copanational.org/PlacesToFly/index.php.  Within Quebec, the big airports (except maybe Mirabel) all provide services to GA aircraft.  If you are going for pleasure, then the larger airports can provide taxi and car rentals for the getaway portion of your visit while the smaller ones provide great scenery for cozier getaway locales.

Depends on what you seek.

Hi there, so you're planning a visit to the Montréal and Québec area, well here are a few pointers from a local boy!

Your best bet for a place around Montreal,if you're planning on staying downtown, is St-Hubert airport (CYHU), one of Canada's busiest GA airport, located on Montréal's South Shore, about a $30 cab ride and 20 minutes drive (outside rush hours that is). You'll get charged a landing fee by the airport authorities ( around 15$) and could also have to pay a ramp fee at one of the 2 FBO's, depending on wheter or not you buy gas. Those conditions should be negotiated, before your arrival, via a phone call or email, it's easier to get a good deal that way. Those fees are minimal compared to Montréal Trudeau's, (CYUL), the bigger airline-oriented airport, where you'll pay about 55$ in fees (NavCanada special fee and Airport authorities fee) just to get in, not counting the ramp fees at the 2 or 3 FBO's. A taxi ride from CYUL is around 30$ also.

For the Québec region, the only real option is the main airport, Québec Jean Lesage (CYQB). Cabs to downtown are around 40$, about a 20 minute ride, you've got a choice of about 3 FBOs, and you get a free night stay if you buy gas. By calling prior to your arrival, you can always strike a better deal, depending on the period of the year.

Flightaware.com has most of the information for these and other airports in the province. One word of caution, 100LL is very expensive at the major airports, around 7$/gallon. Some smaller airports, like my home base Lachute(CSE4) charge around 5.50$, which is still high by comparaison, but a good deal up here.

Don't be intimidated, you will hear both French and English on the ATC Frequencies and I suggest you ask for radar following so you don't feel lost...

Hope this helps, ask any question, I'll do my best to find the answer and if you come by, I might even be able to greet you at the border on one of Montreal Terminal frequencies, where I work!

Randy, If you are looking for aeronautical data....and not B&B info....

You will not believe this but you can find all Canadian aerodromes through the EAD.That is the European Aeronautical database.

You may find information here:

http://www.navcanada.ca/NavCanada.asp?Language=en&Content=ContentDefinitionFiles\Publications\AeronauticalInfoProducts\default.xml

Nav Canada is using the EAD system and you can register here:

http://www.cfmu.eurocontrol.int/cfmu/public/standard_page/ead_basic.html

More and more the EAD becomes a world wide repository as Canada New Zealand etc...are using the same Infrastructure..

After registering you can pull a report on the Aerodromes etc..(interface nees to get used to but it works...) download the correct Java version

Hope this helps click on the Map left particpating States and you will see Canada ....

https://extranet.eurocontrol.int/http://prisme-newgis.hq.corp.eurocontrol.int/atmatlas_viewer/public/mapviewer.jsf?width=1067&height=739&mapCode=EAD

PS the US data is not available....the FAA started just to impement NOTAM to ICAO standards...;-)

The rest of the world are publishing AIP's according ICAO annex 15 standard..If you would want to fly in Europe this is the source for information..

Almost forgot! If you want to clear customs in St-Hubert (CYHU), you'll have to do it between 830am and 1000pm and outside weekends and hollidays. If you want to clear customs outside those hours in the Montréal area, then your option is Montréal's Trudeau airport (CYUL), with the fees associated.

Québec (CYQB) customs are 24hrs from December to April (incl.) and 8am to midnight for the rest of the year.
