I'd say that a J model would fit your needs with some better economy if that's a concern. Engine's cheaper to maintain and fuel burn is laughable. The gentlemen that I bought my J from was stepping up to a 252. That's what I'm hearing. The J at 155kts all day sippin fuel is a great bargain. There are MANY J cream puffs available for less than 120K Edited March 31, 2016 by Jeship
Jeship Posted March 31, 2016 Author Report Posted March 31, 2016 Seth, THANK YOU so much for the invite. If I'm in town that weekend and not flying a trip, I'd love to take you up on your offer!! Thanks Brother!! Jeff
KSMooniac Posted March 31, 2016 Report Posted March 31, 2016 Hard to go wrong with a good J. If more of your trips are of the longer variety, though, you might appreciate the extra speed of a 252 or any of the long body Mooneys. The J still occupies a very sweet spot in the overall marketplace, though, and thus you should always be able to sell it quickly if/when needed. There is a continuum of J's with various amenities and costs, so you can surely find one to suit you once you narrow down exactly what you want. 9+ years into mine and I still love the experience, although I do have turbo fever. Reasonable speed and fuel burn < 10 GPH with 18 NMPG economy is great. Can't really find that in any other 4 place certified plane. 1

It's not for sale, but ..... wait .... everything I own is for sale at the right price. Ha! I will be out there Sun after lunch to fly it and change the oil. I can be generally around on the weekends otherwise. Where did you keep your 58? FTY? William I kept it at KRYY. Moved it briefly to Cherokee Co (KCNI) at S&S Aviation. Great peeps up there 1
