PTK Posted August 25, 2015 Report Posted August 25, 2015 There's a nice little free app called Pilot Wizz that I really liked using as a quick reference tool. I discovered that it doesn't work anymore! I'm running iOS 8.4.1 on iPhone 6. Had anybody else ran into this? Quote
mooniac15u Posted August 25, 2015 Report Posted August 25, 2015 Have you tried one of these instead? http://www.aircraftspruce.com/catalog/pspages/liljohn.php?clickkey=22350 Quote
Jeff_S Posted August 25, 2015 Report Posted August 25, 2015 I have to say, you beat me to the punchline on that one. Peter opened himself up on that one (which, right there, could be another bad pun if we really wanted it to be!). 1 Quote
DAVIDWH Posted August 25, 2015 Report Posted August 25, 2015 Too fancy and too upscale for me. Gatorade bottle less intrusive and more practical. No sanitation or odor issues, just dispose of after landing and replace. 1 Quote

PTK Posted August 25, 2015 Author Report Posted August 25, 2015 A few weeks ago the NJ turnpike was shut down around EWR area. I was stuck in that jam for six hours! Moving 10 feet an hour in a sea of cars as far as the eye could see! Had the opportunity to try out two methods of portable urination. Water bottles and gallon size ziplock bags! The verdict is: gallon size ziplock bags!! Water bottles are very inconvenient and not recommended. Ziplock bags work really well! And they seal water tight! Thank God I had a box of ziplock bags! Pics and video to follow! No review is complete without proper documentation! Quote
KSMooniac Posted August 25, 2015 Report Posted August 25, 2015 I've been preaching the virtues of the gallon ziplocs for years now. For extra safety throw a couple of diapers (or several) in there before use. Quote
Hank Posted August 25, 2015 Report Posted August 25, 2015 And here I was going to suggest a visit to a urologist . . . Guess I'm a little late to the party. Darn Work! It keeps getting in the way . . . Quote

Hank Posted August 25, 2015 Report Posted August 25, 2015 How old are you again?? Young enough to still have all of my teeth, except those durn wisdom teeth that were cut out in college. My line was making a play at YOUR age, not my own. Personally, I've never been there. But work starts at 0600, and today was slap busy!! Quote

Luckily still young enough to not need to try it. Clarence Quote

mooniac15u Posted August 26, 2015 Report Posted August 26, 2015 According to the version information in the App Store it hasn't been updated since 2009. I'm surprised it has worked this long. Quote

Luckily still young enough to not need to try it. Clarence Instead of paying for those expensive diapers you can just buy some Sodium Polyacrylate and throw that in the ziploc. It's the super absorbent material inside diapers. It can absorb several hundred times it's own weight in water so you don't need much. You can get a whole pound for $20. That should last your whole life. http://www.onlinesciencemall.com/sodium-polyacrylate-super-absorbent-polymer-1-pound.html I would recommend trying it out on the ground first to figure out how much you need in the ziplock bag. DrBill Posted August 30, 2015 Report Posted August 30, 2015 I swear by the Clorox gallon range extender.. Re-use your empty clorox bottle.. I have several 1/2 gallon in the plane. They seal well and when used, just toss in the FBO trash. Leave a bit of Clorox in the bottle to keep scent fresh. Bill Quote

Bill i would think the residual Clorox could leave chemical burns where you wouldn't want any if you hit turbulence, but if ya gotta go... 1 Quote
