Mike Busch of SavvyMx.com puts on a monthly webinar about engine maintenance. The last one on Sept. 1, 2010 was about EGT and CHT.

This is an excellant lecture on the internal operations of our engines and the combustion events that develop these temperatures. Mike describes the engine operations in a clear and understandable way. He covers several specific conditions of flight and how the EGT and CHT relate to these operations.

I highly recommend investing the 45 minutes to listen to his lecture. It is

best of all it is FREE.

Thanks for posting the lecture, I found it very informative.  It's nice to see more of the physics behind LOP vs ROP operations and the actual meaning of the indications in our cockpit.  Changed the way I look and lean on my JPI!

Hmm...my first reply got lost somewhere. So if it shows up, sorry for the double post. What I said was I also found this webinar enjoyable and learned a few new things, although most of the information is available on various AvWeb articles and even a few threads on this forum. It's not 45 minutes, though...more like an hour and a half for the main content, plus an extra hour of Q&A that I chose to miss.
