Does anyone have a copy of the Hartzell Service bulletin referenced in AD 2007-26-09? My search on Google yields no good results, the Hartzell website only goes back to SB 136 and all earlier SB's do not show up? Is this thing top secret? I sent a request to hartzell, but who knows how long it will take for their reply. AD-2007-26-09 references 118A, but it appears 118F is latest revision. I'm trying to get the clarification of the cold rolling on the Y shank aluminum blades and if this requirement is mandatory or optional? My interpretation of the AD is that is mandatory, but I need to read SB-118A called out. 118B through F appear to be the AMOC for the AD?

It's Mandatory as with all ADs.

But this AD originated as 77-12-06, so if your logbooks show it has been complied with then your good.

118 is about Commpression Cold-Rolling

136 is Blade bore inspection

All of which are incorporated in the O/H of a Hartzell Compact(113b) propeller nowadays.

Has your propeller been O/H in the last 37 years?

Cody,

I am in the process of a pre-purchase and trying to do my due dilligence on a 65C model (eng and prop OH in 1995) So yes within last 37 years. Whats strange to me is this is the O-360 and the operator has the tach with the redzone on tach for the "no continuous operation" which from what I read in the AD does not apply to this engine so I question that as well.

I belive the red arc is going to be on all non-counterweighted 360's with a 2 blade Hartzell.Weather its the -A1D or A1A. BUT!!!!!!!! I belive the AD reads only the IO-360-A1A, but not havin the AD in front of me, I'm not 100% sure. I have been in a few C's that have the same re-arc your talking about.

If it was O/H in 95 I feel really confident the Cold-rolling(118) an the blade bore inspection(136) was done.

In my shop as well as many others. We roll an inspect every Hartzell blade during the O/H process

The M20C does have the restriction for rpm for the original prop.

Pasted from the Type Certificate Data Sheet:

Engine tachometer is to be marked with RED arc between 2000 and 2250 RPM indicating the restriction against continuous engine operating in this speed range for M20A, M20B, M20C, M20D, M20G models with Hartzell HC- C2YK-1/7666 propellers or HC-C2YK-1B/7666A-() propellers

The new Hartzell Top Prop Scimitar blade models do not have this restriction.
