DaV8or Posted August 4, 2010 Report Posted August 4, 2010 Quote: N601RX Elba, Alabama $3.75 fuel $60 month for hanger Airport Authority gave everyone who has a hanger there 40 gallons free this month. Quote
Carl S Posted August 4, 2010 Report Posted August 4, 2010 $3.99 Self Service at KGKY (Arlington). (Hangar $215/month for a city hangar after a 5 year wait. I hear they're comming up faster now though.) Quote
N601RX Posted August 5, 2010 Report Posted August 5, 2010 Quote: DaV8or How in the world does that work?? Why would they give you free gas? Is there that much competition in the area for hangers? Are there a lot of empty hangers? Maybe I need to move to Alabama too!! Quote
231Pilot Posted August 5, 2010 Report Posted August 5, 2010 KAWM: Hangar $215/mo. plus utilities (maybe $220-$225 in winter) AVGAS $4.41 self serve last Saturday Quote
skyking Posted August 5, 2010 Report Posted August 5, 2010 At Whitecourt AB yesterday. $6.80 / gallon My home base is about $4.80. and goes as low as $4.40 sometimes Quote
flhelo Posted August 9, 2010 Report Posted August 9, 2010 KZPH is $3.78 gallon SS. Alot of folks stop in here when AOPA Convention is in Central Florida and for Sun and Fun Quote
DaV8or Posted August 10, 2010 Report Posted August 10, 2010 Quote: N601RX There had been some construction going on and the gas pump had to be moved and was out of order for a couple of months. The letter they sent said to please accept the gas as a "gift of appreciation" for your inconvience. The the wait list is usually under a year. Most of the other airports in this area charge $125 a month for hanger. I think one of the biggest differences is that it is unattended and the Board of directors are just local pilots who keep their planes there. To my knowledge there isn't anyone who is drawing a big salery of managing everything. The hangers are older, but are metal and keep the planes dry and safe. We have a father/son AP/IA who have full times jobs elsewhere and charge $35hr. The local CFII is airforce reserves and charges $25hr. I think the bottom line here is that no one is getting rich off this but they have created an invironment where people can afford to fly and the airport will grow. Quote
Nate Posted August 10, 2010 Report Posted August 10, 2010 4.12 self serve and 100/month open hangar, South of Fayetteville NC. Quote
jax88 Posted August 11, 2010 Report Posted August 11, 2010 Paid $4.14 for self serve at KSSF in south San Antonio last night. Still no hangers available. Quote
itsmekw Posted August 11, 2010 Report Posted August 11, 2010 Here in central IL, KDEC is running about $5.00 full service, but KAAA and KTAZ which are both about 20 min away are $4.00 self service, 24 hrs. Quote

BaronSmith Posted August 12, 2010 Report Posted August 12, 2010 24 hour self service at Twin Lakes Airport, 8A7, near Winston Salem, NC, is $4.35 a gallon. Pretty much average for self serve around this area. Quote
Skybrd Posted November 3, 2010 Report Posted November 3, 2010 Quote: rdv Whats the price of avgas where you are? BC Canada, $5.78/gal Quote
RJBrown Posted November 4, 2010 Report Posted November 4, 2010 $3.83 self service APA $4.99 if they bring it to you. $1.16 a gallon extra to deliver it seems too much to me. Our airport has areas of distinct "turf" each FBO not allowed to cross into each others areas. My shelter is rented from the Denver Jet Center. Either I pay more to them or I taxi about 2 miles to the self serve pumps. Prices in the area are all over the map 18V ,a small airpark, is lowest at $3.72. Some places want your business and others are content abusing the "captive" market. DIA not only has $50.00 landing fee but $6.28 fuel, they really DON"T want you there. Quote

Skybrd Posted November 4, 2010 Report Posted November 4, 2010 Quote: Skybrd At Bakersfield, Ca. (BFL) airport at Lloyds Aviation or it's also called Jet center, its 5.45/gal. They give me a .10 discount being 5.35/gal. At my rented hanger they won't let other FBO fuel trucks come in their area. I got gas in Porterville, Ca. recently and it was 5.00/gal from their mobile fuel truck. I think Bakersfield (BFL) has too high a price but remember always paying a higher price in Santa Barbara. Wonder how much their fuel cost today. I pay $300.00 per month for a hanger at Bfl for the Mooney. BTW, BFL has lots of restrictions for access and it cost me 40.00 for a AOA badge, class and two car stickers. The security hassel is terrible and a person has to go through some hoops and security check before getting cleared. This has to be redone every year. Blah... Quote

Amelia Posted November 4, 2010 Report Posted November 4, 2010 $4.26 in Edenton NC, (KEDE) but I just paid $0.25/gallon at KECG, Elizabeth City NC, last weekend. That's right- a quarter per gallon-- total of $4 for flying Young Eagles all day. Their normal SS price is something like $3.88 IIRC. Quote
