bonal Posted November 6, 2014 Report Posted November 6, 2014 On the first start of the day my fuel pressure gauge shows no pressure I can hear the boost pump loading up as it is making pressure and engine start is normal. After start still no indication. During run up the gauge will wake up and then functions normal. Any subsequent starts during the day the gauge functions normally. Engine pump and boost pump pressures are right on normal the entire time and there is no leaking along the fuel lines. Tapping on the gauge does nothing at some point after it's been running it just comes to life on its own. Any thoughts or ideas would be appreciated
Marauder Posted November 6, 2014 Report Posted November 6, 2014 The fuel pressure gauge on my Mooney brought fuel right up to the gauge. If you have this type of gauge, you may have some sort of obstruction in this line or at the instrument interface.
N601RX Posted November 6, 2014 Report Posted November 6, 2014 You may need to remove the hose from the back side of it and clean the inlet. Most of the gauges have a very small hole in the back to let fuel into them. Some have an adjustable orifice that can be turned.
bonal Posted November 6, 2014 Author Report Posted November 6, 2014 Yes it has the fuel line running to the gauge. next oil change will check it out. once it comes to life it works fine.
N201MKTurbo Posted November 7, 2014 Report Posted November 7, 2014 Pm me and I'll give you the name and number of a man who will make it better then new for a very reasonable price.
bonal Posted November 9, 2014 Author Report Posted November 9, 2014 You never can tell, so today's operation the pressure gauge worked perfectly from the outset. Will just have to keep an eye on it and see what's up. Had a great flight to grandmas house.
